I'm having problems with NSS reading my N95 - 8gb phone. When I 'scan for new device' all the info comes up , but when I click 'phone info' and 'read' it comes up 'reading values..........error' at the bottom

or more likely anti-virus software .. disable it and try again

have you set the phone to be in pc suite mode?
Seems like it has something to do with the latest update of NSU. Not sure how to go about sorting this one out.
Any ideas?

I had exactly same problem only way I cured it was to download and reinstall the NSS program, once I did that it worked fine.
Bob - tried reinstalling but no luck it still comes up with an error message - even tried deleting NSU and reinstalling it. Oh well I will have to wait for it to come on NSU in the normal way
it worked when i used a different machine that had never had pc suite on... presumably it's the updated drivers for the cable that nss doesn't accept.
I had the same problem. I done a system restore and used nss and was fine then I updated till what I want. Done twice now and seems to be fine..

Looking on the Nokia Disscussion forums, theres loads of people haveíng this problem with the new FORCED update of NSU, myself included.!

I've even gone as far as reinstalling both NSU & NSS. Rolling back NSU to the CD version like suggested by others and doing it on a differnt CPU. Any idea?
Try this. Go to add/remove and delete the NSU cable drivers. Let Windows locate the drivers and NSS should be able to read your phone. Change to the firmware you want and take it from there.
The problem seems to be in the NSU cable drivers which don't recognise NSS

The problem is a conflict with the latest version of the Nokia PC Suite.
If you temporarily uninstall the Nokia PC Suite then NSS works.
I unbranded my phone and had to do this to get NSS to change the product code.
Reinstall the PC Suite when you've finished.
