Does anyone know of a mobile phone dealer (UK) selling the N82 on Vodafone upgrade? Phones4U don't sell the N82, CPW do but can't offer it on Vodafone upgrade. Voda stores nor Voda direct sell the N82.
If anyone has an idea, please let me know
Thanks
I have the same sort of problem sometimes. If there really isnt anyone, the best you can do is go with a contract that suits you best, and sell whatever phone you get to put towards the simfree version.
Yeah, that is the alternative, unpreferred option
Does anyone know, if the Nokia store in London do contract phones, specifically upgrades? That could be an option, I suppose. Otherwise I'm gonna have to hunt down a small independent dealer who can upgrade on Vodafone. Not many of those left, these days.
N95 8GB on Voda, debranded and unlocked(for 20) will do the job. That shouldnt lose you much if any money if you sell the N95 to buy an N82:icon14:
N82 is deffo worth getting, I am a huge convert especially with the new software version!
Gentlemen,
Take a look at http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/.
I too am on Vodagroan, and wanted the N82. FINALLY got an answer from Vodagroan, stating that they were not going to carry the N82.
I bought an unbranded unit from the above (99.95 at the time, but now a little dearer).
You may either start a NEW connection with Voda, and get the phone cheaper, on contract, OR (as I did) UPGRADE. The phone will cost you the new price (130??), you will remain with Voda on the same contract as you are now. No catches (honest!)
I am NOT associated or affiliated with mobilephonesdirect in any way, shape, or form (except for being a very satisfied customer).
PS The phone's great
I'll keep mobile phones direct in mind for next time, thanks for the tip.
In the end I got a W890i on Vodafone upgrade, and am selling it on Ebay to fund the N82. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to have to do it this way though.

So if you upgrade using MPD, is your contract still direct with Vodafone, or is it with MPD? If I had any issues with contract, bills etc, could I still go into the Vodafone shop and get dealt with?
And I assume your mobile number stays the same?
Also, I currently having mobile insurance with Vodafone, would they still honour the n82, or would they tell me where to go as i purchased the phone from somewhere else? If so, when MPD renew the contract (when you upgrade) can they amend/change the contract and take off the insurance add-on? (as theres no point me paying for something thats worthless!)
Cheers.

BigKingy,
Apologies I never got back to you sooner, as I was obviously not "watching" this topic.
Okay. When you buy the phone from MPD, that's all you're doing, buying the (discounted) phone from them. Period. They then advise Vodagroan, and your contract REMAINS WITH VODAGROAN. So, any issues with billing, invoicing, call charges etc is still between you and Vodafone. You keep your same number**. Vodafone however do NOT support the phone, as they don't sell it/offer it on contract. Bear in mind however, that the phone has a 24 month warranty anyhow, with Nokia.
**If you weren't bothered about retaining your number, then you could take out a new contract with MPD, and get the phone for FREE I believe, contract still being handled by Vodafone.
I would imagine you could cancel your insurance at any time, whether or not you upgrade.
Hope this helps?
Cheers
You may care to have a look here, if you don't know of it already, it's a Vodagroan forum http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index
