I beat NSS !!!

Like a lot of you here I was thrilled Nokia had produced new firmware for the N95 8gb. Like a lot of you I was well miffed that something in NSU shafted my ability to change the product code always getting the 'reading values ....error' error message in NSS. I'd tried several different versions of NSU & NSS, no way could I get it to work, tried for about 4 days...I'd resigned myself to waiting for Nokia to release the new euro 1 firmware...
Anyway tonight I fixed the problem and here's what I did :
1) uninstall all Nokia software
2) control panel and remove anything 'nokia' left - I had 2 cable drivers to remove
3) in Program Files delete the Nokia folder
4) I ran ccleaner to remove unwanted files & cleared the registry (I'm on XP)
5) reboot

then I downloaded NSS from B Phreaks & guess what .... I can re-write a new product code - yee ha happy days....

good luck Nokia peeps ...

Update...having updated the product code I've now finally loaded the new v 20 firmware on my N95 8gb...I'm a happy bunny 😊

if youd have searched the forum you'd have found this advice in the first place. 😉

Good effort for sorting it by yourself tho.

im having a simular problem, i have change the product code and the Nokia update software still says there is no updates?

You can take it one step further and make NSS run at the same time as the latest NSU and PC Suite.

Uninstall everything as described in the first post, although you don't need to mess with the registry. Reboot. Install NSU and PC Suite but DON'T run them and DON'T connect the mobile. In the control panel remove the Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and reinstall the one from your original software cd called Cable Driver, or use the one below. Reboot, reinstall NSS and enjoy 😊

1st post - Hi!

Thanks guys, that had me stumped a bit just found the forum today. All upgraded to V20 with no Vodafone crap left behind. Now I just need someone to give me a definite answer using "SUPER" to encode my DivX stuff.

Cheers,

R.

Seemed to for GSi-R a few posts up altho his problem was slightly different, the debranding software works with Vista.

I can't get this link to open up - is there somewhere else we can download the driver from? I tried an older one but that was 2005 and didn't work

Congratulations... however now you have no warranty on your N95 8Gb!
