Hi guys, I've taken a backup using pcsuite of everything on my phone and then upgraded the firmware to the latest v20 on my n95 8gb.
However, on my phone I had a program - Handy Safe, which I kept 'all' my bank account data. After the upgrade this program was wiped out, meaning that all the data with it was gone!
I've tried restoring but restoring the 'settings' fails at about 70% possibly due to settings being different in this new version.
Would you know if the 'backup' I took contains handy safe data and if its either possilbe to extract or restore it?
Thanks for your help

When backing up your data, you should not tick the box "Back up memory card" The 8GB memory is untouched when upgrading firmware on the N95-2.
If you are very lucky, the Handy Safe data are amongst the 70% restored, even if the app itself doesn't run. Otherwise I think your data is gone, because the backup seems to be locked. Remember to sync with the desktop version of Handy Safe from time to time, to prevent issues like this...
Check for your Handy Safe data in C:\Data\Others\HandySafe
Oh, and GSi-R, I think you should change your signature before a mod or admin sees it. Linking to another forum unless very relevant is not that popular on most boards 😊
thanks guys. yeh it was indeed silly i didnt sync with the desktop version.
sbc - do you suggest i:
restore my backup,
copy the files in c:\data\others\handysafe
install handy safe
copy files back into above dir?
i dont suppose theres any way of unpacking the backup file in windows is there? if there is i could possibly grab a copy of the handysafe contents instead of restoring.
@drchris
Noki was a waste of time to me. But perhaps you are lucky enough to be able to pull those important files? If it doesn't work, yes I suggest you restore as much as you can and then check the folder mentioned. Just remember to reset the device afterwards or your phone will be a mess 😊
@GSi-R
No it's not. Relevant means according to the topic at hand in the current thread, not the overall subject of cellular phones! 😊 Personally I don't care, so the argument isn't with me. I am just saying that you might have a problem with the authorities, trying to steal their users 😊

ok thanks mate. just an update to tell you that the files did get restored following the import.
so i took a backup of the 3 files and just reinstalled handy safe on the device and everything worked fine. thanks so much 😊
Great! Nice to hear. Congrats 😊
