Converting Movie's etc... into nim format!

Hi,

Cna anyone offer me any tips on converting clips recorded from a video or TV to nim format?

I've seen on the n9210.co.uk website that there are a few adverts and movie trailers from TV converted into nim format, how did you do this?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

followup questions

why would someone choose either nim or rm for their movies? does one have any advantages over the other format cause they play the same to me. size diff?quality diff?

same with wav versus mp3

I have to convert the movies and all other media fill I want to play it on the commuincator, as it only supports nim and rm, also the Nokia Multimedia Converter compresses the video from around 80mb to only 2 to 3mb, which is essential as you can only get 64mb multimedia memory cards.

If you have some other way of playing avi, mpeg etc.. on the 9210 without conversion, then please let me know.

i actually meant either nim or rm.

basically, i was asking you guys which format did you think was better and why not just use that one?

I find that NIM's are usually better quality, but RM's have the advantage of being able to fastforward & rewind which is very useful for larger files (like full movies). However, I've recently aquired RealProducerPlus (the full version of RealProducercasic) which allows more control over the output - so my views on quality may change once I've had a play with it.

Hi,
I reckon Nim's are better quality, but I don't know how to convert the clips over to rm format, as on the Nokia disk there is only the multimedia converter which converts to nim format and not rm format, do you know of any software which I can convert normal video clips into rm format to play on the 9210?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

RealProducer is needed to make .rm videos, Basic is a free version which is limited and poor quality, the Plus version I find to be quite high quality, but then I don't really use my 9210 to watch videos when I can run my laptop through my 24" tv User posted image

Where can you buy the programme from?

I don't see the point of carrying around a bulky laptop, when I can do everything on my 9210, there is no better device out there to match the 9210 in terms of its capabilities and size, I do alot of travelling in the year(F1 GP's) and if I ever need to send a document I just contct it up to the net and control my home PC from it!

It's my life!
