Konami and Nokia have announced that a number of Konami Mobile titles will be added to the N-Gage platform. The first game will be the award winning Metal Gear Solid Mobile, which a 3D tactical espionage action game that sees the player carrying out solitary infiltration. The game is being developed in conjunction with Ideaworks3D and using its Airplay 3.5 SDK.

If Ideaworks3D is involved then this game will probably be done very well, and push the N-Gage platform to its limits.

All their ports have been brilliant: Colin McRae, Tony Hawk, Pandemonium, The Sims etc. And their own System Rush games have been pretty good too.

Perhaps Ideaworks' only major blunder can be summed up in two words: auto run. 😉

This is great news 😊

I'm a big fan of the Castlevania & Suikoden series from Konami, and it would be great if they appeared on the N-Gage.

On a side note, the Airplay SDK allows Nintendo DS games to be ported to the new N-Gage platform, so maybe Konami might consider some of their DS titles as well as mobile titles?

The press release does talk about games in the plural, and Konami has already done a mobile version of Castlevania, so it would make sense if we saw some form of Castlevania on N-Gage.

Has Suikoden had a mobile version made of it?

That would be awesome. The GBA game Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow was released for phones not long ago and I would love to play the DS sequel Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, but don't have a DS.

It would be great to see the PS1 game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night released for N-Gage too.

Nope. Here are their mobile games. They did re-release Suikoden 1&2 for PSP a few years ago, but only in Japan. Suikoden 1&2 are PS1 titles so the N-Gage should easily be powerful enough for them.

Does anybody have an idea where can I get the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear II: Solid Snake? I know for a long time that Konami made Java versions of them but I simply cant find them.

You can buy the first one here if you're in USA. Other than that, I have no idea. Doesn't seem to be available for sale on the european Konami mobile site.

This is one game i won't be thinking twice about buying (but i'll still try before i buy it as MGA (Metal Gear Acid on PSP was horrible, but portable Ops was good).

Even so this is gonna rock on the n-gage!
