Most of images stored on the E90 are in folders, on my SD card.. or they were..
Recently I had to format the phone, which did not touch the SD card.
So the images are still in their own directories on the SD card.
However, the Gallery now shows them as one huge list of images, with no folders visible anywhere.
I guess Gallery had a separate file that kept a tab on which image was in which folder -- what a stupid design if you ask me. Anyway, is there an easy way to put these 500+ images into their folders on the Gallery?
Thanks!

I am using E90 since August 2007. I think I am a heavy user. But, until now, I didn't know what folders in the gallery are
That is one of my first complains of E90... I have about 4000 photos and like this gallery is nearly useless.
How do you manage folders in gallery? Is there a way of making a relation between the actual folder in the SD card and the gallery folder?
Its not only E90 stupidity but all the Nseries and Eseries is silly when talk about organizing the Gallery.
i suggest u to buy a 3rd party application called Resco photo viewer available in Handango for 19$ i think.
it organize the images like the file manager but in nice UI..i use it in 240x320 screen so i donno about its integration with E90 internal screen.
Hey!
What did I hear? St..ip design?
In gallery>images>options>organize>new folder and move to folder.
Thease are virtual folders. You can create folder in the phone memory and on memory card as well. So keep this in mind when create a folder. In case you back up your phone, the settings are saved, and can be restored.
You can do the same in video folder as well.
If you don't want to an image to appear in the gallery use a free file manager y-browser to cheng the file attributes to "hidden".
So who is stupid?
Cheers,
Sorry, the design of Gallery *is* stupid. I have my photos/images already organised in folders on my memory card, but Gallery then expects me to re-organise them using "virtual folders".
While the approach of hiding individual photos using a 3rd-party file browser can be useful, it's hardly intuitive. Furthermore, if someone has a photo on their phone, they don't want it hidden, they want it visible
You might like this method, I personally think it's a ridiculous approach to take...
Certainly it's not the way People would expect.
Everybody stores their images, music in some kind of folder structure. It's really interresting, that the S60 galery app does not care about that.
My self have houndreds of photos on my mem card too. It would be nice to have just an option lile "auto organise by folder" or something like that.
Cheers,
In gallery>images>options>organize>new folder and move to folder.
Nothing like that even on the most advanced Nseries...
and when u use the Eseries (E90 included) u will lose the nice UI and ability to organize your photos on the pretty wide screen...
This is stupid when consider this phones as a powerfull devices so i go for 3rd party applications.

The orgaize, folder option is in fact there!!!!
Am i the only person aswell to notice that the dithering of thumbnails takes an age?
the n95 is nice to scroll through tons of photo's, even with the flash menu system, but the e90, looking atimages from the memory card, is so slow. perhaps a caching of thumbnails is needed!
Also, does anyone know what that option "add images to gallery" does?
swingerman i know E90 has this option but i said Nseries...kindly read my post again carefully.
and when i use Eseries i lose the Nseries Gallery UI.
the application called Photos in N78 is awesome...wish it will be built in in the next Communicator.
