I bumped into a wall today as I turned around with my N95 in my pocket. When I reached in to check on it the screen had cracked and spidered...
What a joke of an LCD to crack from so little impact...sigh
Does anyone know anywhere that sells these LCD screens in the US? I am going to be without a phone for almost a week if I do the repair or I can order a screen, buy the new iPhone, replace the screen and sell the N95...
I don't want a phone that has an LCD that breaks so easily bleh.
Anyone know where to find replacements?
N95-3 (North American version)
Ty guys, any help is appreciated.
The same thing happened to me last week. I bought a new lcd from ww.blueunplugged.com
I live in the UK but i think the website delivers to the USA. Hope this helps.
Do you know how to change the LCD. If not, let me know and i'll post some instructions. It's pretty easy to do.
I also have a damaged screen, possibly due to some sort of impact in the last 24 hours. Thanks for suggesting BlueUnplugged as I wasn't sure where to get a screen either (I live in the UK so that's OK).
However I'm not sure how to go about changing the screen so could you send me the instructions you have please? I also bought the appropriate screwdriver so I should be able to open it up 😊
Thanks again.

Same thing also happened to me last week. I left my phone in my trouser pocket over night, got up the next day to find a cracked screen. Totally gutted, its the first time I've EVER broken a phone. Had the phone for over a year now as well.
Sent it off to an ebay repair service, who offer to fit the new screen for 30. Also getting a new fascia fitted as the old one was getting a bit scuffed.

i got my screen replaced and fitted at the local market for 40.
70 is alot too much for a screen replacement.

I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me as I accidently smashed it with my PS3 controller!
Just buy a replacement LCD screen off Ebay and fit it yourself. The tricky part is removing the screws. You need a torx screwdriver, either T5 or T6 but please be VERY VERY careful in case you break the screw heads.
I managed to bust my screw heads as I couldn't get the screws to loosen and ended up having to get a fine drill, drill through them and finally got the phone opened.
Once you have removed the screws it really is very very simple. There is a great guide on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNEOaB-mlSI
Don't worry about the little plastic tool they use. A credit card or similar willl work just fine.
Good luck!
I've received my screen today but I'm having a lot of trouble removing the Torx screws. They seem to be stuck in there with glue or something! Has anyone else successfully replaced their screen and willing to give tips?

This is to be expected as those screws are factory fitted. I completely banjaxed my screws and therefore when I put it back together I had to glue the top section together and it looks well trampy.
I've now ordered a new facia and screws off Ebay so I can get it all back to normal again so watch this space for more panic from my direction!
If you got the screen that comes with a free Torx screwdriver then try to avoid using that as it is absolute pants.
This may be too late but try not to loose the rag like I did as the screwheads will definately get broken. The key is to push down hard and twist in a non aggressive manor. They are p1ss easy to break which is well annoying!
Let us know how you get/got on!
Same thing happened to me -
In the supermarket - young boy pushing trolley ,pushed it into me . When we got outside and I took N95-1 out of pocket - broken screen .
When home rang insurance company told them what had happened and they asked if there was any other damage . Told them that the battery cover was broken as well . Insurance company said no problem - take the sim card and the memory card out and we will send a courier to get your broken phone and bring you a new one.
24 hours later knock on the door , courier takes N95- 1 and reaches me a box. When I open it -
New N95 -8gb😊:icon14:

Thanks for the tips. Thankfully I haven't lost my rag completely with it. The screws are still in there and for the mostpart aren't worn down that much. I decided to stop because I could see that the screwdriver I got with the screen was certainly wearing down. I had a set of really good screwdrivers somewhere from when I took my 7650 apart, and was going to try again when I found them.
However, it seemed my screen wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I thought my screen was cracked on the inside, but it looks like it was just temporarily damaged due to constant pressure from my spare battery. Both my phone and spare battery were in my pocket while I was sat at my desk at work and I guess the battery was pressing hard for quite a while against my screen, which caused it to appear cracked. Just over a week later and it's back to normal now.
So now I have a spare screen 🙄
