I know this might sound controversial, being on a Nokia forum. But i just wanna share with you guys my personal insights. Dont get me wrong. Been a loyal Nokia user through and through for the last ten years maybe. Just like most of you. Three weeks ago, i got Nokias latest fone, the 3650. All i can say is that i was extremely disappointed with it. Its basically a 7650 with the added MMC card. And it looks lousy! Plus the fact that in the 5 days it was with me, i still find it hard to navigate using the circular keypad layout. So i returned it and replaced it with the P800. What can i say? This fone rocks!! The screen is so much bigger. It plays cool mp3 in stereo at that. It has the latest Symbian 7. It has a powerful ARM9 CPU clocked at 200Mhz. It has a very decent battery life, lasting me 2 days of heavy use. It comes with a cradle for convenient syncing with your desktop. Its expandable with the Sony MS Duo. About the only gripe i have abt it is the lack of software for the moment and availability of higher memory cards. But who cares, they will come soon 😊
Dont Waste Your Money! Get the P800
I think that most people can agree that the P800 is better in some ways then the 3650,but what about the price,the 3650's price is allmost half of the p800's price.
I preffer the 3650 over the p800 just because it has a joystick and it is Series 60,hence lots of more software(This is really important to me)
I hate the keypad too 😃 and yes,its ugly 😃
I guess it depends on what your needs are.
True the price difference is big. But in a few months i am sure the price would drop, so better hold on to your money instead. As for the games, i do believe that many will come in a little while. Maybe what i am trying to say is those who have the 7650, hold on to it and dont upgrade to the 3650. You will just be wasting your money. Buy the P800 instead 😊
Can you record a video on P800? Also can you edit Microsoft Word & Excel? TNX!!!
Pretty soon i can. My 7650 came without those but i installed some 3rd party software and now i can record videos and edit word in it. Well that was before i sold it. Those are just softwares. The Symbian platform is an open one so softwares will be easy to come by. Just give it time. But heres the question: Can you increase the size of the 3650? Can you make it play mp3 i STEREO? Can you make it TOUCHSCREEN? Can you make it operate in the LATEST Symbian OS7? Nah i dont think so 😊 😊 😊

Dont count on it, as SE hasnt realeased the API for the camera its really
nearly impossible to code a program for recording video.
But maybe SE will release it sometime in the future, hopefully.

As will the price of 3650.
But I agree with you on that holding on to 7650 part, and wait for something better to come soon with series60.
Because series 60 has and will continue to have much more apps/games. 😃

You can edit word with a Nokia 7650? Can you explain how?
Like Jyrik said,video recording on the P800,small chance for that to happen,i dont need a touch screen,Symbian 7 is something i definitely want to try,the P800 wins there but third party software?
I dont think that we will see as much as there is for Series 60,like i said,that is really important to me.

We can dream about it,well,J2ME for yes,but native Symbian apps,one in a milion.
What about gaming,the P800 does not have a joystick,i dont see that as a good feature.
The P800 is great but not perfect.
Other series 60 device? We might wait a while for that one.
I think that i will buy a 3650 for my little brother so that i can play with any time i want 😃

You can't because this version is optimized for devices with touchscreen and series60 devices don't have...
Opera for the P800 has just been released. I just surfed on my fone just like doing it at home using my P800! Eat your hearts out 😊 😊

Well yeah its coming. Unfortunately they still dont know when. Anyway i guess this is one area the 3650 beats the 7650. Opera say they cant make it for the 7650 coz of inadequate memory

had both p800 and 3650. sent the p800 back. Both are bloody good, but I like my phone to be well, a phone! the p800 was a little too much pda for my liking. In the end try them and buy the one you bloody well like.
Personally I love the 3650. IS the p800 better? erh is a red car better than a green one? the 3650 is cheaper and most of the case is exchangable if it gets mushed. The p800 has stereo and a touch screen ( doom is cool as is mame by the way, speed is ok for basic games like spaccies, but Street fighter won't work - either driver or memory issues ).
Christomas, if you're in the Philippines, how were you able to upgrade your firmware to run Opera? Went to Semicon (SM Manila) and there's still no upgrade. Please let me know where you upgraded. Thanks.

It depends where you got your P800. If you got it from authorized dealers, then the upgrade will be free, at least thats the case with SE center in makati. Otherwise you need to pay 500 bucks for the upgrade. Their latest firmware is R1D. I just upgraded my fone last week. So far its alot better than the R1B
