Ideas to remove red led light while recording

Most of my recordings are destroyed by the red light (if I record in low light). It's very annoying and I know it's on because of "privacy"... please.

So I'm wondering what I can do about it? One of the things I could do would be to cover it, but still some of the red light shines through, causing red reflections.

There's a hack (tape on some part inside the model) for the N95, but I don't think that N82 works or looks the same way, so I'm not going to try it.

Anything else I could do?:con?

I am surprised that black PVC Tape (Electrician's tape) does not cut out all the light... try that.

Your only other option is to invalidate your warranty by going inside the unit.

Something odd happend last night. I was recording several times, but at one point, the red light wasn't on while recording.... :con?
Must've been some kinda bug, maybe caused by repeated recording.. after I noticed, I tried recording again and it went on.

Are you certain about this?
Just that I have a few applications, don't feel like installing them all again :P

I have the scandinavian version, cause I need to write messages in danish... I guess that isn't possible with the EURO version?

Also, I too, have heard about the EURO version did something else. But I heard it only removed the sound it makes when it takes a picture (which can be removed by going into silent mode or turning warning tones off..)

Unfortunately the red light is there to prevent pervs taking videos of people or kids without their knowledge - that's why the light comes one for ALL FW versions.

We live in terrible times!

And of course the most funniest moments is when people don't know it... cause you know, whatever they were supposed to do would be destroyed when they see the red light..

But I was also filming my cat, oh yeah we need the red light here right? It must know I am filming... anyway, since cats eyes reflect light directly back, it looks like it has shiny red eyes when I record it.... awesome.... not.

Never-the-less, the N95 cannot tell the difference from a cat, a child, or a lady in a bathing costume. The red LED is to alert a subject they are being recorded. I think it's even a legal requirement in some countries.

Buy thicker black PVC tape to cover the LED (and a full length macintosh & dark glasses for yourself) if you really feel the need to video people without their knowledge or consent.
