Has anyone seen or played with Oplayer2 ?
Apparently you can now initiate streaming from a wap page link?
And it's bango intergrated for easy access to streams.
Anyone played with it yet?

It's not free. It's a bango site while oplayer is free. If you want to advertise sth at least login. I won't give a single cent for there stuff, better give them on real useful services and products than useless porn wap sites which only want my money.... :evil:

My problem is the wap site posted by a guest on this thread. Oplayo is free although i haven't seen the demos cause of problems with gprs (only wap access), i like their strategy and their contents(believing the words of AEFOX). But bango sites is irrelevant with this thread. I'll try again the oplayo in a few days through bluetooth/irda internet connection sharing with my pc,the only way for me to see the FREE playboy content/demos. And i won't give a cent to bango wap sites...

Not all bango sites are PAY sites, that is up to the individual site owner I think. I have been to many sites on bango and not paid? I did not realise it was a PAY site, I was surfing around their list and came across it, it did not charge me? I don't think?
How can it charge me if I did not tell it to?
Oplayo is good but my porn links do not work anymore, but this was good too, did not mean to offend.
I am a member but I always show as guest?
It still lets me post so I was not worried about this?

Yes, unfortunately content for 1.x Oplayer doesn't work with 2.x because of different audio codec and changed playlist structure. I'll try to come up with lots of videos "in the near future". This means roughly next week.
I'll notify here once I get things organized.

I find it hard to see how video streaming to mobiles will take off when GPRS costs are so high!
We'll pay �2.50 for the video, and about �10 in GPRS charges to get the thing to our phones!!
The winners are not the poor sod trying to sell his content but the networks for GPRS charges!!
Especially with T-Mobile charging 2p a kb!!

It's not Oplayo that's gonna charge - Bango is just another billing solution for operators and content providers. From what I know Bango means that there's no need to send eg. SMS to order a video, they have this strange URL-number system for billing.

I too hope that GPRS costs would go down, I guess the operators haven't realized that they're pricing themselves out of all the video recording/distribution systems, eg. video MMS, Oplayer and Real video.

Okay, here we go:
1) Get yourself the Oplayer 2 from http://www.oplayo.com/
2) Install it on your 7650
3) Start Oplayer and use the "Open Location" found from the Oplayer main menu to open this address: http://koti.mbnet.fi/~syd/lists/index_2.mvp
You should now have the playlist open in your Oplayer and/or saved on your Oplayer.

Couple of notes:
- So far the only newsclips I have are Finnish, I've yet to find any English news that I can download and which aren't in Real format
- When you enter a playlist you'll see a text item with a date on it (eg. 05/03/2003). Clicking it will open detailed info on video items added on that particular day. VERY useful info in case you want to dl some of the videos and need to know how big they are.
- Let me know by PM in case there are broken links or if you think the files are too big to view or something else.

I cannot get oplayo to work like this. Webviewer and irc work fine but real and oplayo complain that there is no GPRS connection.

Check out which acess points oplayer is using, and change to appropriate point. It trys to use its own access point on my phone, which wont work, so i use my normal one.
Couple of updates:
First, I'm now experimenting with some German newsclips so any deutsche sprechen Oplayer 2 users might want to check the "newsline" section from my playlist - I'll try to add new clips daily during workdays. I also added a couple of clips from last weekends F1 race, but TBH fast cars and changing camera angles aren't well suited for mobile videos. 😉
Second, some members have contacted me asking on how to convert their own videos (avi,mpg,mov etc.) for Oplayer 2. Well, Oplayo released the trial version for Media Designer 3.1 at the end of last week, so now it is available for download from this URL:

And finally, if anyone needs to learn about the syntax of playlists just download my list(s) with a web-browser and study them with notepad. In case of questions you can contact me by PM.�
