How did you discover AAS?

How did you know that this site exist? For sure lots of forumers here has their own reason how they bumped in this forum.

I had been browsing by a few times before, but I really ran into trouble with my communicator when I installed service pack 1 to my xp. I found the solution here http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2944 (I posted my comment as a guest back then) and I was just so relieved I decided to register. Then I browsed some more and liked the community spirit. Among the cars and babes, there were also pictures of cats (the famous MaleBuffy at work series) so I figured this was a nice place to hang out. I still do 😃

I started browsing and posting as a Guest just before I got my 7650, I was stubborn and only decided to register when I needed to attach something in the forum 😃 , but ever since then i've been hooked and I can't leave the place now 😃

I was browsing www.aikon.ch

They said We are not a allabouter6 kinda of site....

So I said...Who are they?.....

For a few days I was surfing and surfing wondering about symbian apps and Nokia 9210....

I found this with google just after I bought the 7650.
After reading throug the 7650 manual and thought there must be more to this phone than just that.
There was. And more. And more... 😃
And been here ever since. 😃

I started off with being a regular My-Communicator visitor (because it was the first search result that caught my eye). After a while, I saw a link to what was then a small community called AllAboutER6 (them were the days) and I was drawn by Switchblade's rants 😃 (doesn't seem to be so many of them these days though) and the community spirit which was much more evident than enywhere else I'd tried.

I'm generally drawn to community sites like this, for example, MiniDiscT is a similar kind of community for MiniDisc users, so I hang out there a bit as well. When I was a PocketPC user, I was a regular visitor to PocketPCThoughts. AAS is a far cry from the cultish following that now exists over there, and as long as Rafe doesn't start telling us how to think (something that has never happened by the way), I'll be hanging around here for a long time to come (I celebrated 1 year of membership on Jan 6th - Ah! Memories!)

I think it would be nice if Rafe posted something on the origins of AAER6 and AAS?

When I bought my 7650, I searched GOOGLE for a disscussion forum, Found allabouter6, Registered, And now I'm all the time here 😃

Yeah, that would be nice 😃

I found AllAboutER6 on a search in Yahoo, about 3 days after getting my 9210 and searching heavily for a site with software, hints, and tips. I couldn't find one (it's a joke Rafe, honest, a joke!) so settled here in November 2001 (about 2 months after it's conception). I've seen both the site and the forum develop into the pool of cesspit like stench and hate that it is now. (Please note that no-one lacking a sense of sarcasm and irony is allowed to read that last sentence).

As it stands upcoming projects in this site are set to push back the boundaries of the symbian world and head us to the future.

I'll have to see what I can do then. The site is older than most people realise. Its goes back to 2001 even! There's been some changes a long the way. I'll do a brief post of this soon. Screenshots of old site etc. why I started it, blah blah!

I discovered it at the start of a rainbow (GOOGLE). 😃

Also, it was ER6 then. then suddenly my bookmarks were kaput. Then AAS was there 😃

on www.mobil.se they said that the problem with nokia 7650 pc suite on windows xp could be fixed and they linked to this site....it's just that i don't have xp :-?

i thought i was cool but i would just check in once in a while for about 2 month before i registred 😃 😃 😃

the final decition about if i should get the p800 was when i read about what other people here wrote about it! :smilecolros:
