A new version of Nokia Photos, a media (images and video) sync and management application for your PC, is now available through Nokia Beta Labs. The new version, 1.5, has a new look to fit in with the Ovi branding, improved support for importing images from non-Nokia devices, tools for adding and visualising geo-tagged images, and improved integration with Share on Ovi and other Nokia services. Looks great!

off topic a bit: I am curious - do any other manafacturers have anything approaching this kind of software/services side integration to their phones? I have never owned another brand and don't follow them too much so I have no clue.

Sony Ericsson has some decent music companion software, but I don't think anyone currently matches the scope of Nokia. There's a lot of PC Suite type stuff around, but less in the add on application front.

is there still a problem with syncing over bluetooth, in the sense that if the sync fails, and it starts to resync, the photos that have already successfully transferred are transferred yet again?

For me Nokia Lifeblog is still a better application. It more complete, transfers your text messages too.
I don't need a online photo printing service, I print my own with Photoshop and Qimage.
I do like Ovi though, the Share and Sync functions are nice. Can't wait til they open the Music store for the U.S.

Nokia Photos is basically just a new name for the LifeBlog. The ability to sync MMS/SMS is still there and actually you can now configure whether those are synchronized on per device basis.
