Platypus is a quirky side-scrolling shoot 'em up that's done well on other platforms. Astraware has got in touch to say that it's now available for S60 and UIQ smartphones. Screens and description over on the main Platypus product page etc.

Looked real nice in the intro screen, but crashed after showing the loading screen for the first level...

on a Nokia N78

I have downloaded it for my E90 and it does not even start 😞 It only panics with KERN-EXEC 3.

Not entirely surprised it doesn't work on the E90, the web site says qvga only, works well on the E61 so far.

Jim

it crashes on n95, n76 and n95 8gb too bad really good try

So, thus far, it doesn't work on the N78, E90, N95, N95 8GB, E71, and N76. Do we know of ANY phones that it DOESN'T crash on?

Hi All

Alison from Astraware here. Sorry to hear you're having problems with this. The game's had lots of testing on a range of devices here, but we're not able to replicate every real world set up. I've had a problem with the game myself since I installed FP2 to my N82 yesterday, and so I'm wondering if there's something related to FP updates that might be causing this.

If you have a moment, please drop an email out our support team ([email protected]) letting them know which device you have, whether you've updated with any of the feature packs, and let's see if we can get this fixed.

Kind regards
Alison

P.S. We're always on the lookout for S60 beta testers if you'd like to sign up for our beta team!

Just a quick note: I think Alison meant she'd upgraded the N82 to v30 firmware. Not to 'FP2', which is impossible!!!!! 8-)
