Probably a very silly question about debranding

I have a T-mobile branded N95 currently running v12 software (which I updated from v10)- I checked for an update and the one available is v14.
I notice that the generic software version currently available is v30- is there a massive jump between T-mobile's v14 and the generic v 30?

I was thinking of debranding (following the threads on this forum) and then updating to v30- what T-mobile branding stuff will I actually lose? The only thing I can think of is the web and walk icon- this is probably a really stupid question but will I lose any of the actual T-mobile settings (SMS message centre numbers etc, picture msg, web and walk)? Also if I debrand will I still be able to access the T-mobile internet home page and my favourites?

I assume if I debrand I should use the Euro1 (plum) code?

I apologise now if these are totally stupid questions- any help would be appreciated!

No you wont lose the SMS Message Centre number etc. The WebNWalk icon changes to a "Web" icon which is the exact same just without the links to tmobile downloads. You can still access these pages, just take a note of the web address to access them. Also take a backup of your favourites (might just need to do this manually).

I highly recommend debranding because tmobiles branding is awful.

Euro1(Plum) is my favoured code for N95.

Agreed. Plus there's a huge difference in performance and features bewteen v14 and v30, well worth it.
