How to disable pin lock on Nokia E71

Hello,

I used to have my phone hooked up to an Exchange server via Mail for Exchange. The server enforced security policies on my device such as a pin code as well as a 60 minute auto lock. I now want to give the phone to my dad and he hates auto locks. When I go to "Phone auto lock period" and try to set it to "none" it says "unable to unlock phone"

I don't want to factory reset the phone because I have it jailbroken with hello carbide and also have some useful apps installed. I just want to get rid of the security policies that Exchanger server imposed.

Can someone please help?

Google brings back some posts which suggest that backing up, reseting, restoring removes the lock requirement, but I suspect that's not actually the case - the Exchange server should re-confirm the security policy

Reset might be your only option
