Today, at the Nokia Games Summit in Rome, Nokia announced the forthcoming availability of Dance Fabulous, a new firsty party game title for N-Gage. It is a dancing / rythmn game where you create and customise a dancer (avatar) and then lead it through dance moves. The games has built in community and sharing features and comes with a set of music created by Dave Stewart and sung by Cindy Gomez.

Now, I realise quite a few people reading this site will be a bit cynical about this game, but I think this could do really well, especially if it's bundled on some popular music phone models.

And by the way, this is from the same people who did the recently-released One, so I suspect the graphics will be rather good. 😊

Yeah, Digital Legends. This must be what they've been working on all this time while we were waiting for ONE to pass through the testing process.

Thinking about it, it might even use the same graphics/game engine as ONE.

That would make sense as they're both games that focus on one or two highly animated characters that never leave the main playing area. And it sounds like they're both ultimately about performing particular moves, albeit in totally different contexts.

The ability to use any music on your phone is potentially a killer feature! Btw, can you do that with all those "Guitar Hero" etc. games? If not, N-Gage would have something unique up its sleeve. 😊

sounds pretty cool, if its anything like stepmania on pc i'll buy it!

ZuneHero (game for the Zune) lets you do that, but that's not exactly a common platform 😉

I'm wondering whether the "own music" bit will just be freeform. Hopefully it will still have gameplay attached, as with DDR, Stepmania, etc.

It would be cool to have it do something a bit like Audiosurf, where it pre-processes your music to design fun tracks/routines that match the rhythm/style of the music. A music-processing engine like that could be used for loads of games that are affected by the music.
