Well AAS policy is rather simple, if you created the app, post ahead, if you post a app or url to a modified version of a program without the owners approval that link will be deleted. Rafe's philosophy of free speech is shared by all the admins 😉

As I am the only point of contact within the Admin with a P800 can you please give me some assurances that this software has been written by you and not some other company before posting the file.

I am aware that i may no longer be regarded as a legitimate developer and can find no excuses whatsoever for my actions at MY-Symbian which i still regard to be over-exaggerated by its administrator whom several other mature users woul agree.

I would like to inform all AllAboutSymbian users about what Mr. Swatfa really did:

1) he got ILLEGAL access to VICS company customer's email account. He was regularily ILLEGALY reading his emails - information about player development sent to that customer by VICS developers. He was posting the information on My-Symbian.com forums as his development progresses and achievements.

2) He STOLE the program from that customers email as it was sent to him by VICS company for tests. He published it on My-Symbian.com forums as HIS program.

3) His development/programming knowledge is so poor that he even doesn't know how to create SIS files. As the program sent by VICS to their client (stolen by swatfa from the email) was separate files and NOT sis installation, swatfa asked me to create SIS for him what I did. I asked him to give me valid UIDs required to create SIS. I just checked - he gave me FALSE UID - it doesn't match the .app's UID (quite easy to check with hex editor).

4) Swatfa is the most insolent person I have ever seen. When the true author of VICS nanoPlayer came to our forum and posted a message that the software is illegal and the person who posted it is not known to VICS at all, swatfa replied to VICS developer that he is the author. Can you believe?

5) Swatfa created several false users on our forums and used them to praise his great achievements and posting messages about his fantastic contributions to the forum. When it turned out that the software is stolen, he used those false users to stand up in his defence and express opinions that what he did wasn't that bad as his only intention was to give great software to all users. We have all IPs stored and they clearly indicate that all these users were using the same IP address. Moreover, he was so stupid that he registered those other users with [email protected] account.

6) I have all emails from VICS Managing Director Mr. David Stead and main VICS nanoPlayer developer Mr. Andrew Trevarrow in my archive - they clearly state that this application was STOLEN from VICS and the person calling himself "swatfa" is nothing but a THIEF and LIAR.

I can't stand him telling here that we at Symbian.com over-exaggregate what he did. He put the entire site and all people behind it in very bad position. With his lies he caused that My-Symbian.com was offering STOLEN, ILLEGAL software for a couple of days. We had to appologize VISC for what he did and we can be only lucky that the player is going to be freeware and that this situation didn't cause serious losses. In such case it would all look way worse.

We would like to strongly warn all AllAboutSymbian users of this person and any contacts with him. He even still uses his false "swatfa" user name, which comes from "Simon Watfa" - the customer of VICS.

If you don't want to get into similiar or even bigger trouble as My-Symbian.com, BEWARE OF HIM and any information (not to mention software) that he is going to post on your forums.

IF YOU NEED PROOF, I CAN SEND YOU (OR PUBLISH HERE) SEVERAL EMAILS FROM SWATFA HIMSELF, WHERE HE CONFESSES THAT HE ABUSED THAT CUSTOMER'S EMAIL ACCOUNT, STOLE THE SOFTWARE, THAT HE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH VICS AND MORE.

I AM ALSO READY TO PROVIDE YOU WITH INFORMATION SENT TO ME BY VICS DIRECTOR AND DEVELOPERS.

Stealing and distributing a program which is in development stage and isn't allowed for distribution, when the company has very serious corporate plans related to it (even if it is going to be freeware) is a very serious thing. Only friendly attitude and understanding of VICS company that we have nothing to do with what he did caused that there are no serious consequences.

BEWARE.

I have been visiting his page on a daily basis for several months now, just like AAS, and he was always doing his best to keep his site clear of all types of abuses, piracy etc.

You don't believe what? Go to VICS page and read their official release about their player being illegally distributed.

Now check the attachment. This is VICS director's email stating that the software has been stolen from them. And two more: message from @emirates.net about email account abuse and message FROM THE REAL MR. WATFA about this whole case. All headers are still there, so you can check if it is genuine.

PS. It was me who was cheated and my site got harmed. Please, nobody tell me that this is a private correspondence. This is an evidence of criminal activity of this guy and it should be publically known.

BTW. What strikes me is that Mr Watfa in his email says that he is happy that so many users took advantage of this great program at My-Symbian.com. This makes me wonder if this whole case isn't anything but some sort of advertising stunt for some company. Just a thought, but more and more probable. Just remember that the player is going to be freeware, but the encoding software will be commercial (and not too cheap). And encoders will be of great use because of proprietary format used by this player.

The same applies to swatfa's hypothetical video recorder. He's been talking about it for two months now and many people get excited. Maybe this software will really come out, but..... will be released by some commercial company and this will again turn out to be an awful way of advertising - abusing free sites to promote products.

True or not, this is all one big fraud and manipulation - nothing besides. Beware of swatfa and be careful about some companies' marketing methods - just in case.

I posted this message because I would really like to do my best to save another fora from what we experienced. Also because I hate thieves and liars myself.

Please, be careful with this guy. He is pretty active. He planned his action carefully - created multiple users (screenshot attached), waited until the software arrived in email so that he can get it and was telling people that he is working on it during all that time (3 weeks) etc. etc.

From the other hand, what is very interesting, he signed his very first post as.... Simo Watfa.

Whoever he is and whatever is really going on, I would like to suggest you to keep away from him. The only thing you can have from him is getting in trouble.

And don't let him say that he contributes to various forums. He posted stolen software and put us in such difficult situation and now he tells that he contributed to our forum and made a lot of people happy. Unbelievable.

The attached picture shows multiple users created by swatfa to praise and defend him(self). He uses dynamic IPs, but the same situation is for any other IP he used. The second screenshot (sorry for Polish - didn't have time to switch the board to English) shows Redbull15 user registration information with [email protected] address. Same applies to 3 or 4 more users. Now go and check my forums how those false users were praising and defending swatfa all the time.

BTW. If you think that he will vanish from here after the above information being published, then you are damn wrong.

BTW2. I wonder how many accounts he already has on your forums.

Well, when I said " I don't believe this", I was not so clear.

I just didn't believe that things like that can happen, but on the world we live EVERYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

Besides, I DON'T TRUST ANYONE because THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE (ok these are not my words, I may watch too much X-Files 😃 )

And if it's true (and that's what it seems to be) then that guy (SWAT...sth)MUST BE VERY SICK... (:evil😊
