When I'm using YouTube and trying to stream a video, the video will try to load using Real Player but will say it can't find a WLAN and give me no option to connect to my provider's wireless internet (AT&T). Sometimes it will play the video using my AT&T APN but most the time it wants a WLAN connection.
My Destination settings are as follows:
Internet: 2 access points
AT&T
Priority: 1
MY WLAN
Priority: 2
WAP Services: 1 access point
AT&T(01)
Priority: 1
I can get on the internet fine and I've made sure my Real Player default access point is AT&T but it still wants to use a WLAN all the time. Do I have to mess with the UPD port high and low numbers? I have no idea what these are. Thanks for any help.
Don't know about all that clever settings stuff, but if you want YouTube, try Mobitubia http://www.mobitubia.com/
I have the same issue on o2 in the UK. Annoying.
As a workaround:
1) Go to m.youtube.com and click on a video
2) When prompted for the WLAN to use, click cancel.
3) When prompted with "'RtspTemp' not saved. Save now?", Click Yes.
4) Choose a location and file name. RealPlayer will close.
5) Start RealPlayer and go to streaming links. You should see your file there.
Of course you need to make sure RealPlayer is set to use your 3G network for connections. I just wish this setting was persisted when RP is launched from a browser 😞
I use my phone in the US so I can't use the 3G band on the innov8. Is that necessary for Real Player?
