I bought a Nokia 9210 Communicator from Germany and the text and programs are in german. Is there any application or way that I can get the phone to be in english so I can understand it. And does anyone know where I can get a DLR-2 cable delivered to the US so I can connect it to my computer. Please anyone who knows of translations or any help to my problem, please reply ASAP. I took it to a Nokia store in my state (indiana) but they had no clue...anyone know where to find a nokia service center in America.

Peace!

Normally they should be able to change the language by installing the english firmware ... but I think the only firmware you'll find in America will be for the 9290, which brings me to the question .. does your german 9210 work in America? 😉

I have the needed frimware (flash files) for this (big file 50 meg or so) which I'm happy to upload on my site for you to d/l burn to a disc and give to the guys at the service center for them to use, but the odds are there will say no or give you no waranty, short of that you will have to send it away.

Offer is there if the guys say yes, mind you you might need to drop a bit of cash there way as well. 😉

I called Nokia and they said they can't touch any European models including the 9210 and they won;t install it if it's European. Anyways...can you post those up and I will dl them. Is there a way I can install them myself?
Please help me on this because no one here in the US knows about this phone or will touch it.

Do you think I can send it in to the European service center and they will ship it back to me because I can't really understand german on the communication. The actual phone doesn't work but I got it as a gift last year and am thinking about selling it. Anyone know of how to contact a sevice center in Europe?

Peace

More than happy give me a day or 2 and I will PM or post here details of were to get files from, I guess you could send it to a European service center for it to be done but the cost and the chance of the phone getting damaged is always a worry, you not coming to europe at all as that would be a better bet to get it done, short of that you can buy that gear to do it youself but it's going to cost you $450 + the shipping and for just one phone a bit much, if you want to wait a month or 2 I will be getting said gear for doing it (as I what to upgrade mine and few other one's), I would be more than happy to do it for you but again it's the time it would take to get the phone from US to UK and back again. Short of that I would be happy to buy at a good price.
