It's good to see Resco active again in the Symbian OS world. And even better to see that their latest, the game Resco Bubbles, is both original, addictive and has a superbly crafted learning curve for a mobile device, or so reckons Ewan in his review. It does require a Nokia N95 or compatible QVGA device with built-in accelerometer though - if your phone supports automatic screen rotation then you're going to be OK with it, I suspect.

From what I read elsewhere, for Resco Bubbles to work you will need an accelerometer smartphone that uses the TI OMAP 2420 CPU ie. N95 & N82....
There is reports the game will not run on the new sensor framework of the latest devices eg. N79,N85,,N96,E66 etc...
Any comments...:icon1:

Can't test it since I don't have a newer device, but sounds true to me. N82/N95 use a
different accelerometer API to communicate with the software, while the newer FP2 & S60v5 phones use another one.
Thanks, noted, I'll tweak the text. You mean that graphics acceleration is needed? BTW, I still rate the N95 8GB as the most powerful smartphone in the world.... I sit here looking at, for example, the N96 and 5800, and neither can do as much as the much older N95 8GB.... Really hope the N97 improves on this situation.
Just tested Resco Bubbles on the AAS N85 - indeed the tilt sensor doesn;t talk to the application, and it's certainly a lot slower and jumpier on the menu screens (I can't go any further than that, obviously)
Confirmed not working on N96 here.

This is Great Game!
Very addictive!
I think there is a large number of N95/N82 users we would like to upgrade their phone but feel that by doing so they are losing out that great TI OMAP CPU and (at the moment) all the many accelerometer apps wont work at all....Almost of these apps were freeware and they will not work with their new N85,N96 etc... 😮
you see? you see? N95 8gb IS the best smartphone... graphics hardware on a great screen with the best symbian programs.... WHY buy a slower N96?
