Hi,
I have just started using my 5800. Previously I had a 6680. Was wondering if there was a screen saver which could show if there were any missed calls or SMS messages waiting for me to be read.
Otherwise I'd just have to unlock the keypad just to see if there are any new messages or missed calls etc.
Thanks,
I just got mine pre-ordered.... this seems crazy that we would have to unlock the screen to see if we missed a call or got a text.... surely someone out there has an app for this?????
I'm Using Best Reminder. It can be set to alert you to messages and missed calls at a frequency of your choosing. It also respects the profile you are using so if you are on Silent it is also silent and if your current profile does not allow vibrate then it respects that as well. 15 day trial available so worth a look.
This might be slightly usefull. The menu key on the 5800 will actually glow white to alert you of an event (missed call, Txt, etc) once the screen is locked... Granted you can't use this to tell what you have received or missed but at least its a prompt.
This one works quite well on 5800 and my good old N73

Just press the menu button when locked and it will light up the screen momentarily to allow you to see time or if you have missed anything.
screensavers are battery killers, especially for a phone thats as power intensive as the 5800. But yes the menu key breathes indicating any alerts. and if thats' not enough, get the software LightSignalPlus, that gives light blink alerts every 2 seconds till you notice, and its really functional too. 😃

With V21 Firmware, the Menu button flashes when you have a missed call or unread message... so what you desire is already built-in. No need for an app.
Also am not sure how but you can make the length of time it continues to flash as long as you want.
Mine is on unlimited time scale as when I am at work we are unable to use personal phones.

Now there is a new app that solves this problem: PulseTime offers a screensaver mode where the current time lights up every minute for 5 seconds. That way, you can keep track of the time, and still not waste battery power. And it looks great, too!
