why?
E71 won't connect to my Palm One wireless keybord
There could be all manner of reasons why it won't connect, so providing us with more information will help us to help you.
As a starting point, does the E71 find the keyboard when you try to pair up?
the phone finds the keybord
asks me to establish and enter a number (1 - 9digits)
to enter it on the key board
and then on the E71
I do this and the phone reports
cannot connect.
Yes; it's an absolute pill but it will connect.
I did this last night, it took a few minutes, but the good news is that once it's done, it's done until you do a factory reset or firmware upgrade...
Anyway, you have to keep trying. Lots. With the same numbers. I picked "0000" because they're easy to remember* and close to the enter key, then it's a case of entering "0000" into the E71 then immediately into the keyboard and pressing enter.
You will probably have to do this a few times as well.
I removed the batteries from the keyboard in a vague attempt to reset it first.
Sometimes a box will pop up onto the E71's screen asking you to enter the numbers into the keyboard.
*last night I felt very tired! :icon14:
I'm not sure now if the phone can even see the keyboard....
how do I turn the palm keyboard on?
I've tried looking up the instructions on line
but there is no mention of an "on" button
with the palm, all I had to do was open it fully,
but now the E71 reports that it cannot find any blue tooth devices
I tried to follow your instructions... thank you for that
but after an hour I gave up
Assuming Bluetooth is all set on the Nokia and the keyboard has good batteries, press and hold the recessed Bluetooth button at the top left of the keyboard for a few seconds. Once the amber LED is flashing at the top right, you're good to start the pairing process.
"press and hold the recessed Bluetooth button at the top left of the keyboard for a few seconds"
where is this "recessed Bluetooth button" ??
the led never goes on...
thank you for helping me, I feel very stupid with this thing
Hmm. Would it be possible to post an image of the keyboard? Or a link to another image elsewhere on the WWW?
