Gameloft's soccer simulator Real Football 2009 has been released on the N-Gage platform. Just go to the application's Showroom tab, select "Options" and then "Update Now", and it's also available in the "All Games" section. As always, a list of current and upcoming N-Gage compatible phones can be found on the AAN FAQ page.

Read on in the full article.

Haven't had a chance to try this properly, but the early fan reports seem to say this isn't as good as FIFA09 or FIFA08 for N-Gage.

The guys on the forum are calling it the worst N-Gage game ever. I'm going to download it tomorrow to see if it's true.

I can't comment on how good the game is as I haven't played it enough, but the upside is that there's a lot of interesting stuff up next on the release schedule: Worms World Party, Yamake, Age Of Empires III and (probably) Spore are all due to be released very soon.

Hi Tzer2

I just had to pass comment on this game

Gameloft you should be ashamed of yourselves - this is an utter abomination - the graphics are worse than poor and the gameplay well words fail me it is quite simply unplayable. I would personally not recommend this game to anyone and yes Fifa 08 and 09 are both way superior to this game and lets be honest they were not exactly fantastic games themselves

Sheridan01, I do agree that Gameloft have been the laziest publisher on N-Gage, and I've written some very bitter reviews of some of their games. Some of their games are good, Brain Challenge is definitely my cup of tea for example, but others aren't so good (I think Dogz is the worst game on N-Gage, and said so in the review).

The thing is, Gameloft are also probably the top-selling publisher on N-Gage. Game quality doesn't seem to affect game sales...

Hi Tzer2

You obviously have not played Real Football yet, in my honest opinion its worse than dogz and is now the worst game on n-gage. At least dogz is playable this game is not. Give it a try and if AAN manage to give this game over 50% I will probably have a heart attack

I'm probably not reviewing it, so it's out of my hands. Ewan may do it as he reviewed the FIFA games, but I'm not sure.

But I gave Dogz 39% so that's the kind of target that you'd be looking at for the worst game title this generation.

And believe me, Dogz isn't remotely playable. 😉

(Trivia: Last generation one of the launch games got 22%... 😊 )

Hi Tzer2

Since Nokia calcelled N93i I did another contract in UK so I'm using N85 now...

This game is so laggy but how can it has 8x size of fifa08???

And, BTW, Not only gameloft is being lazy. I'm not expecting ANY GAME on N-Gage apart from Nokia Publishing Games. Age is Emp will be an ugly game with low AI and poor graphics(this has already been proved from the only screenshot), Spore will be exactly same as 3m sis version, 2 hours gameplay. WWP... I don't think it will be as good as last gen, even with multiplay.(i.e the verity of weapons etc.)

Sorry for these "predictions", but I think mine is more likely to come true...

Lets see...

The file size of recent gameloft games may be because of the sound, they seem to use higher quality music files on N-Gage versions.

Age Of Empires will apparently have multiplayer online which should be interesting if it's true.

Third party stuff... the Fishlabs games are something I'm definitely looking forward to.

And WWP will be a lot more fun if it gets a wider audience than last time round. It was actually quite hard to buy the later games on the last generation of N-Gage, most game shops didn't stock them because the first wave sold so badly. That's not a problem on next gen because they're sold as downloads direct to the handset.

This game is awful. Don't even bother to try it. I really don't know how ikona can write those stuff about the game on the blog.

What a frightning game !!
Why does'nt Nokia change even after recieving so many reviews from so many people that off recently they are releasing awfull games!

Why does Nokia make false promises ?
1) First they said that there would be support for the N73 and N93 and after making us wait so long time they say that they want support it, we all new that these phones would never get support but why did Nokia take so long time to announce this !!!
2) Secondly they said that games would go through a quality check before they would be released and now they release again and again such awfull games?

I am no enemy Nokia or something like that, infact I always loved the handsets and services of this company, maybe that's the reason I am so anxious and sad that ngage from which I had so much good expectations has let many of us down !! Initialy they release great games, but off late I fell java games have a much better game play !!

Anyways all I wish is Good luck to Nokia Ngage !!!

First of all Ikona is a fan boy who hasn't gotten enough of the Nokia Kool-Aid.i'm a realist fan boy and this ngage is doomed.the Ngage team are bunch of uninspired pple or nokia doesn't spend on ngage anymore the future for ngage is bleak.i'll be glad when nokia openly declares that it'll no longer use Omap opengles.but see more faith coming from ovi store and non ngage games.why do u think nokia 70-30 doesn't apply to ngage games that way more dev will make non ngage games

Stop blaming Nokia for everything!

AFAIK, Nokia does not (at least under the current business model) have an ultimate quality control/say on the games that an independent publisher puts out on the N-Gage platform. I.e. Nokia could not simply stop Gameloft from putting out crap, unless they change the contract they have with Gameloft. And given that N-Gage is already strugglling to get enough support from game developers and publishers, I don't see Nokia getting too tough on them any time soon.

And Geostigma, Ikona is not a fan boy - he is employed by Nokia - you expect him to critizise his employer's platform and games?! LOL..

That means ikona is a fan boy under Duress.there are developers like polar bit, kinfinite, simworks that are talented why can't they be invited to ngage.currently symbian games make more sense than Ngage.if developers are problems nokia shud at least adopt nintendo style by creating enough first party titles.till now seven days is the best game.
