Anti-Virus for P800 — Sony Ericsson P800, P900 and P910

I was wondering with all of the software been released for the the symbian runned smart phones, is there any anti virus software to protect our phones from been wiped out but idiots who might be interested into creating viruses for the symbian os? 😮

It isn't like I'm going to download 100 megabytes of stuff onto my P800 everyday, and in many ways, the P800 is almost a like a closed system, so I don't really think it's worth the effort to write an anti-virus software for it. Just be very careful with what you install and double check installation packages to make sure they're from trusted sources. By the way, existing viruses are NOT "compatible" with your P800 and as far as I'm concerned, there hasn't been one seen that's wirtten for the P800, but someone might be working on it still. 😉

And I don't think we will see any viruses for the symbian OS.

Besides, have you seen many viruses for Linux?

I agree to coolvi... I once bought a AntiVirus for PalmOS. As far as I can remember the number of known viruses for the OS, doubled in the 3 years I owned it... from 1 to 2 patterns 😉

Both "viruses" where programs that were distributed by warez sites as "serial number crunchers"...
