Pixelpipe breathes life into Share Online

You've got to love Ricky and Rita at Symbian Guru, here unearthing (and providing a brief tutorial for) another gem - Pixelpipe, a new plug-in for Share online which widens the photo (and video) uploading compatibility to encompass Facebook, Twitpic, Picassa, YouTube and others. If you've used Pixelpipe then your comments welcome.

I can't seem to upload a widescreen video I took (second best quality setting) on my 5800 via Pixelpipe. It gets as far as the pixel pipe server but then apparently it's the wrong format for Facebook! 😞 But photos work great.

I'm impressed.
One service to rule them all?

Works great with photos, will try with video later (no wifi at work... :frown😊

Thanks for the tip. The lack of services using ShareOnline directly is very disappointing: there shouldn't really be a need for another tier of service like this one. Having said that, it does seem to work well, with the exception of the PicasaWeb service, which absolutely refuses to send directly to my public album, so I'd then have to go to the website and move things from the main album to the shared album. I might use this for facebook, but will probably continue to share photos to Flickr and videos to Ovi. When I'm abroad, I use Moblog, which allows you to submit via MMS, thereby saving a fortune on ridiculous international data charges.

Hey guys, thanks for the link. After using this for a few weeks now, I'm actually quite annoyed with Nokia. As old as Share Online is, there's absolutely NO reason that Nokia themselves shouldn't have set this up years ago. It's a freakin configuration file, for pete's sake.

Yes, even I heard about it from Mark@thenokiablog only. Amazing. Works great. I was a big fan of Shozu but this one is so seamless.
