Nokia's Ovi Store has soft launched in Australia; the information we recieved indicates that Ovi Store is now accessible on a Nokia E75 on the Australian operator Vodafone. Ovi Store is Nokia's content store and download application for applications, games, wallpapers, themes, ringtones and video clips.
We're expecting the roll out of Ovi Store, in other countries, to continue over the next few hours and days. It is likely that a formal launch announcement will be made this week. We'll be updating this story, and will have full coverage of the Ovi Store once it launches in the UK. For now read on for more details and the first live pictures showing Ovi Store in the wild!

Read on in the full article.

Ovi Store V1.05 (212) downloaded and installed on my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic running V21.0.025 firmware here in Australia. It is not Aussie stock so it must detect my IP Address. It wasn't in the Extra's folder, I found it on the front page of the Download! app

It is on the 3 network (Pre-paid)

i'm on 3 Australia, and the app is nowehere to be found under the Download! menu in any folder for me yet, im running an N95 8GB

Also available in ireland since midnite, found it in 'promo' folder in download app, installed in 5800 and my N95 8gb both on vodafone prepay. . .wud advise a wlan connection though, gettin errors on vodafone live 'wap' access point, its pretty smooth and iv been downloading the free ware. . .Go nokia 😊

Correction, It's finally come up under the Promo section!

running 30.0.0.18 firmware

No luck here - Unbranded Aussie N85, V20 software via either Wifi or Virgin APN.

Woo i just downloaded it on my debranded 3 Australia Nokia 5800. No facebook widget to be seen though 😞

Nothing here in Italy... does anybody manage to rip the widget and post it?

Thanks!

On the 5800 V20 firmware on Vodafone.
on that note, does anyone out there in internet land know when VF ireland will have v21?

It does not replace Download! It a separate application.

At the moment you have to specifically download it from Download! However in theory Nokia could push it out as a forced update (i.e. enter Download and you'll be asked to install it... at least on newer devices). I Imagine this may happen once things are settled down a bit. Probably still a separate app though.

Can someone who's installed it please confirm if the internet radio app is available for nokia 5800

Because im going to be pi**ed if it isn't

I doubt VF Ireland will release it, i have been at them for months just to update it to any new version, i brough mine to nokia care in Arklow, 20 minutes it was updated and phone de-branded, all legally and its great, was also free.

irish update . .definatley a soft launch, nowhere near proposed number of apps, games etc. . .no ngage games available for N95 8gb v31,and no facebook widget or youtube app for 5800 v20. .indeed rafe they will have to push this as i dont tink average joe bothers refreshing download!

u expect nokia to release their million dollar facebook app which is supposedly making fanboys pay $700 (for n97) to give us free!!!
seriously never seen ssuch big a money-oriented co. like nokia b4..

Quick note: Ovi Store almost here!
The buzz has started with the Ovi Store showing up in folks Download! folder on certain operators in Asia (see report on AAS). We knew this would slip out, since so many of you are clever and eager to check out the store.

Whats happening is that the Ovi Store is moving to production servers, meaning that the Ovi Store is transitioning everything, testing things out, and even have a ton of folks on hand to follow the wind-up for the global commercial launch.

World wide launch would come any time soon, as of now Ovi.com is unavailable, because of maintenance work. Can't wait to fill up my e71x and my upcoming N97. Ovi is so gonna blow app store away... Just wait and see....

should we mark your words? how about giving your name, so that that we can make fun of it when you FAIL 😃

anyone having trouble with it picking weird access points when it tries to connect to the net?

OMG it is so cool how Nokia can innovate. Look at the cool stars for rating, and the big download buttons. And how about the top navigation: Games, Applications.

It is easy to see that all the hard work from the last 10-20 years in doing phones has all the competitors look from the sideline. Apple, Palm, Google and all the other wannabies and copycats are in so big trouble. And remember Symbian is a true OS that is 5 years ahead of the competition.

So cool

I don't know if it is an error but, in OVI Store, Shozu is NOT FREE!!!!

nothing here on Brazil yet =[ ill inform as fast as i can (but im pretty sure that ill be losing my time, since here is a forgotten place for Nokia)

what apps should i be downloading?

I cant seem to find skype, (fring is there) , facebook isn't, a good weather program isnt, no itunes remote equivalent, no shazam equivalent?

any help appreciated

The web store is accessible now in Finland too. No trace of the application itself, thou.

Nothing in Netherlands as well yet on Nokia 5800. However, I am able to access the ovi store through my pc ( http://store.ovi.com )
and trhough there send the apps etc. as a link to my cellphone trhough text message.
