Nice review! But, in all honesty, now that we have ovi store, I don't see why you make a fuss about ngage. As my e51 would have been technically able to run ngage, I have hoped for quite a while that they would make it available.
Now, despite all the criticism on ovi store, I instantly have a nice selection of casual games and bought both Uno and Risk yesterday. Both great games for spending time while sitting the in the subway, and for an affordable price. Incidentally, a lot of the 'ngage' games are on ovi store as java applications for my e51. So, where is the need to put this on ngage?
I would drop all other modes and sound settings for the sheer pleasure of having a true multiplayer (be it bluetooth, or, even better, the real over--the-internet bloodbath)

Nemoi, I think N-Gage needs to focus on what it does best, games like Reset Generation where there's a very strong online multiplayer movement and lots of other community features too (such as posting recordings of games, collecting point pickups, rankings etc).
If Nokia left all the casual releases and ported games to Ovi Store and made N-Gage entirely about exclusive community-oriented games, that would give N-Gage a clear purpose in life which would complement Ovi Store instead of competing with it.
Having a few VERY good games would also provide a lot of benefits for online game worlds, they could become more populated and filled with user-generated content.
After all, Blizzard hasn't suffered by concentrating on WoW.

I've never really been a big fan of card games, growing up in the video game era they just didn't seem as interesting or fun, with the one exception being UNO and I think this is a good offering from OVI. Uno is kind of thought of more as a children's game here, but the pacing of the game, the strategy and unpredictability of it make it appeal to me way more than Poker, and I think it would be a great time killer to play with a group of friends during stretches of bordem. Multiplayer Online would be great. I don't know, maybe it's just me or the group of buddies I hang around, but I just seems like the whole "Hot seat" method of Multiplayer never really catches on with people. Like nobody wants to play a game where they just sit around passing one persons cell phone around while you try to look (lol or try not to look) at what the other guys are doing so you can keep up with the action. I've tried to get friends to play hot seat games and nobody bites. And though most phones these days have bluetooth connectivity, it still seems tough to get some human competition.
In response to Tzer2's comment, to me it seems as if N-gage as a platform is now in a peculiar posistion. First N-gage existed as hardware, that's what the N-gage was, a piece of hardware, that you could play game on. But it went from being hardware, to being a "platform" (application) that you could install on a cellphone to obtain & play compatible game with. Now that Ovi is the distributor of "N-gage" games in a way it seems self defeating because your going through the same service to get 2 different "kinds" of games, with only a few phone being capable of one the kinds, and pretty much all the phones being capable of playing the other kind. It just seems like when it comes to Nokia & it's gaming buisness, N-gage is still gonna end up being a very small piece of the pie in that sense, and if your developer making games to be sold on Nokia phones, why would you want to make a game for the smaller format when you can make a game that can be used on all of the phones that have access to OVI?
