Touch-Screen Going Out of Calibration.....

5 replies · 10,151 views · Started 02 June 2009

Just lately, when ever I use my 5800, the screen does not respond to where I touch it. I seems to go to the right wherever I touch the screen. (For example- if I touch the "Reply" icon in a text message, it goes on to delete. I hope this gives you some idea.)
Has anyone else experienced this?
It's very infuriating because I can't use the bloody phone, and I'm starting to regret buying it.
I wish I'd have got a jailbreaked iPhone now.

Do things return to normal if you go through the display calibration routine?

menu | Settings | Phone | Touch input | Touch screen calibration

did you try the stylus just to see if you can press the circles during calibration? if you can press the screen to get to the calibration menu, then the calibration screen itself surely has to detect your screen presses on the calibration screen.

That is not the case, I'm afraid.

The top left circle will not respond when I touch it with or without the stylus.

aferg01, I have kind of the same problem. But my screen is miscalibrated vertically instead of horizontally about 3 mm. Only on the upper half of the screen.. My touchscreen died 1 week ago, so I replaced it by a new unit (touch + LCD ) and now this problem.... I searched the web but only found one post with the same problem and no solution... the last thing I will try is a master reset, because I don't have the idea that it's a hardware problem...otherwise I guess I have to live with it???
