got a curious message sms, "From: service provider; select "Save" from "optioins" to configure all settings WAP settings, MMS settings, etc. It's not identified as t-mo or nokia. is there a virus going aaround??

If its not broke tho.. dont fix it and just chuck the message... you can always get it sent again if your MMS etc gives up.
