MMC's

I just recieved my 128 MB card from Crucial Technology, but it's not functioning 100%...

My Communicator didn't recognize it, and my PC said it was a SD card. While the sticker as well as the size indicated that it is a MMC card [SD cards are aprox. 0,5 MM thicker]

I went to an electronics-store nearby where they formatted it. my communicator still did not recognize it. Then we put it in a digital camera, which said it was a SD card and that it was full. we formatted it on the camera and then my communicator did recognize it... I haven't tested it yet, but it's still weird.

An other weird thing is that the salesguy mentioned that officially MMC cards are not made bigger than 64 MB. everything above 64 MB is automaticly a SD card [wich my PC also said...]

Seems this story is far from over, I'll keep you informed. 😉

Nope, it didn't work.
when I put in in the PC and tried to put some files on it, windows gave a warning that there was no card present and crashed immediatly after that.
afterwards, my communicator also did not see the card anymore.

in short: this sux ass!

Howdy,

Yes 256MB MMC's are here, however my 9210i fails to format the card!?!
Not sure if its my device (now in for repair) or if the device cannot address that much memory!?!?!?

Be warned that a 256MB MMC will NOT work with the communicator because of a software limitation.

The 128mb MMC should work without any problems though ...

yeah 128mb mmc's work perfect in 9210i, i've got a few, but you can't lock them, as for that 256mb mmc, i'ii be getting a few of those beauties when there ready, 😮 ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 256mb mmc umm umm ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm 😃 😃

I've bought a 128 Mb MMC, but when I try to format, the 9210i says "Access denied".

I've checked the card for any physical write-protection switches, but there are none. The card works just fine in my PC and my camera. I've also tried to format it in the camera (which completed successfully), but the device still didn't recognize the MMC.

What me do, you say?
