The N-Gage Games Lost To History, Waiting To Be Ported

Almost sixty official games graced the original N-Gage platform, so why aren't Nokia taking the proven hits from that era and bringing them back to the front? Here on Ovi Gaming, Ewan looks back and chooses five that are ripe for re-invention. Why not take a trip down memory lane with him and then ask Nokia very, very nicely...?

Read on in the full article.

You forgot to mention Tomb Raider, the n-gage version was an identical copy of the PC version back then but till now there's no n-gage version of the later episodes like Legend and Underworld. I'd love to see the N-gage version of the game, the regular symbian version of the game has below average graphics and sub par java-like gameplay.

Yes, Rifts! It would please me greatly to see Rifts on the new N-Gage. They can keep the game the same from the original, just bring it over so I can play it on my current device!

And then there's Shadowkey, with improved viewing distance and quest journal, it should be a winner. But Zenimax/Vir2L hold the rights to that one and not Nokia. But Vir2L did release AMF Bowling to the new N-Gage recently, so maybe they make a port eventually too?

Pathway to Glory would be nice too, but I care much more about Rifts 😊

I have to correct you on something cause Space Impact was on the original n-gage (sortof). It came as a sis file on the CD and I remember playing a lot of that game so it can be argued Nokia made a Space Impact for the original N-Gage.

And also I didn't like ashen very much, I would much rather get a remake of Rifts or even a re-release of Tony Hawks or another Sonic Advance ported over...

And also, Mile High Pinball on the next gen was a disappointment compared to the original. The game was nothing but a small subset of levels of the original game even if the gameplay was completely intact...

there were some amazing games for the original platform..
the new ngage games are mostly boring. the original ngage qd was quite good for hardcore gamers...

I suppose I'm the only one who misses Tony Hawk's Pro Skater? I mean, sure, it's massively overdone, but what gamer hasn't wasted countless hours scoring tricks and unlocking various useless upgrades? Tony Hawk is one of *the* casual games on nearly any platform on the planet, and was chosen as the default bundled game for N-Gage QD (not sure if Taco included it, too). I *really* wish they would bring this one back, and fast.

Hey all, good to read you r comments. let me touch on a few?

For all those askgin for Tony Hawk / Tombraider I was doing my best to restirict this to Nokia published titles, ie those with the least legal hurdles. As noted, Catan slipped through just because I admire it as much as Ricky does Tony (btw PSP owners should check out Skate Park City!).

Dextro, point taken on Space Impact, but it was never a 'true' N-Gage game and listed on the website - Snake was also on that CD and not included, but Snakes was 'official.' POint about Nokia keeping a name alive still stands though.

Tao didn't include Tony, and only some QD packages had Tony. Both my retail packages here don't have it.

Ah, right, forgot about the Nokia-developed requirement. 😊

I didn't think that Taco came with Tony Hawk. Admittedly, I started paying attention to N-Gage rather late in the game, which is likely when they started bundling it.

I have to say I'm agree with this 5 games selection, but if a sixth game should be considered, it should be Glimmerati, yes indeed.

as a fairly avid gamer I must say that N-gage now is infinitely disappointing. Besides the fantastic original n-gage games that could've/should've been ported, it's the ability to play games over bluetooth that I miss. I could only ever find one friend who had the original handset and we would play against each other for hours on end. Even the simple tennis game was a hoot. Now I am surrounded by n-gage capable devices and, rubbish games aside, I haven't seen any that feature bluetooth.
Bah! Think I'll save the storage space on my phone. N-gage can take a hike

WTH Wheres Glimmerati!!! That game also meets all the reqirements you stated. Its the only classic n-gage game I've finish more than once!......Hmm..time to fire up my QD again!
