I took the plunge too and changed product code. Also did a 7370 format and rebuilt from ground up. First impressions are good: everything seems much smoother and snappier. Also the lock/unlock slider seems to work as it should!:icon14:
New Firmware - Anyone got it yet?
Any news on whether the phone dynamically changes between wifi and 3g depending on whether you are at home or out?
Also, does the phone book now have kinetic scrolling?

I'm fairly sure that currently once you hit 3g you're stuck there... even if 3g signal drops...
Currently sat at the back of my house (crap tmobile signal) and it's not using wifi!
dammit nokia! this one's critical!

Yea just doing the same myself, just to play it safe, you don't know what got left behind by the UK firmware, onboard memory went up to 55mb too
Updating mine right now: Black - Egypt, forgot to check the product code.
Let me see if I understand this correctly:
The first update has to be via cable to your PC?
Even if you had connected to your PC previously and run Software Updater and it told you that you were up-to-date?
The list of the firmware changelog doesn't list OTA updates as an update.

yes via pc, only if u change product code
of changing codes to Euro 1 .. I lost Japanese font support .. sigh .. it was a nice exercise though.
Change it back .. wait for the real update .. live without those sites for a while.
Update ..
So I got tired of waiting and just changed my code to Singapore 0575722 .. reinstalled ..
Font issue fixed ..
happy day! 😊

Help please...
I'm following the extra easiness guide at "nottinghamjazz" and have downloaded the two files to my Vista PC.
However, when I reach step 6 and click on "GO" I receive the message
"Cannot create file C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF\winscard.dll"
Any help would be appreciated.... I'm hot, frustrated and maybe turning blonde.

The winscard.dll error is the same as I had first time I tried using vista. Running both the key and jaf as administrator solved the issue for me.
Are you using Vista, if so you need version 4 of the key emulator. For some reason version 5 doesn't work!

I'm using V3 of the emulator, works fine too.

Thank you very much.
That sorted that out.... However, there's always an "however", I get as far as "Read values" and nothing happens.
It's 33.5C here so it could be that I'm going slightly mad.
Any help please. :frown:

Installing JAF version 1.98.62 right now...
It's asking whether I want to install Nokia Cable Driver v 7.0.2.0. (since I have the latest version 7.1.16.0 installed).
Aye or Nay? Will this affect anything?

fred no functionality will be lost, and it keeps your settings after update but make a backup just incase
just changed product code to 0570817. Used to do this on my n95 also done it on my gf's 5800. Never had any problems before. Looking forward to new firmware!
Unable to download the firmware. Anyone else having problems?

Thanks Biggzy I may give it a try.
Biggzy wrote:select no if you have nsu instaled already
Thanks, Biggzy. All done.
Word of caution for others:
When installing JAF, don't change the installation directory. Leave the default Program Files/ODEON/JAF. Otherwise, the Emulator won't be able to find/load JAF and you'll need to uninstall/reinstall JAF again.
This game lets you control a Ferrari and drive it really fast. The cars in this game are all Ferrari's, and the different racing modes and your girlfriend makes things very interesting, while the online leaderboard gives the game a competitive edge
Just had a scary half hour but now I got the new model code and new firmware updated over the NSU, thanks for the tips on this forum guys.
Accu Weather still takes forever to load if at all!!!
Bluetooth connection to PC Suite seems to work now.
Anyone know about ViOP, internet calls etc? Not available?
Well I still have the keylock problem. Changed my product code and updated the phone no problem but the keylock problem is still there. I really don't want to have to format and set the phone up again as it took about 6 hours to do the first time. Guess I have no choice.

I changed my product code and then found that I could not download it through OVI which told me that my V10 software was uptodate.
I then used the PcC Suite and lo and behold it said that there was an update. However after updating the phone is just flashing an intermittent white screen at me. Does anyone know of a way to reboot the phone. Something similar to the 3 key Vulcan Death Grip of the N95 would be good. :con?

you could try holding keys down to see if you can try and fine a 3 kay format, no 1 has found it yet tho but it must exist, if there is a hard foemat via 3 key and boot then im sure all these bricked fones will be ok.
