An updated firmware, version 300.21.012, is now available for the Nokia E71 (previous version was 210.21.007). This is a major firmware update for the Nokia E71. The new firmware can be downloaded and installed via Nokia Software Updater.

Looks like Nokia is turning out updates by the dozen...
woaww all devices recieve upgrades these last daysssss
Hope Nokia wont forget 5800 userssssssssssss...............................!!!!?
yeah well done nokia. but just do it faster f ex. n96 v30.033 releas but (this) 0572967 product code have v11.018.Do it for all product codes
Checked just now. Still at v210 😊
They never released the v210 update for the E71-2 NAM. I hope they release the v300 for NAM. Why are the NAM owners getting shafted. We are investing in the best damned phones in the world and we cannot get firmware updates like the folks in Europe. Personally I would rather be living in Europe or the UK instead of the US for not just the phones but for many other things.

Its available for Nam which is good. the product code 0569371 the update. Many Howardforums members are confirming that update is available . This is good . it seems that Nokia started to support Nam market.
The NAM version that it is available is for product code 0559585.
As usual, nokia forgets users of the best-selling phones, and this reminds me that they did the same with n73. Updates for loads of phones, old ones too, and not for 5800. Shame on you, Nokia!!!
Not *all* NAM E71 product codes are updateable yet. My NAM E71 is not supported with this update.
What about camera sound in silent mode after installing this update? Is it again without sound or sticks with what previous firmware messed?
Just checked and nothing showing up for me. I'm running a vanilla, unbranded E71 from the Regent St shop in London so don't know why it's not showing up. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer (and maybe I can take a look at the change log before I make the swap. Sometimes it's a case of better the devil you know... 😊)
About time too, the last firmware was crap.

Just temporary change the product code to 0559585 and get the update. If you want to, when you are done change it back.
Added an update to the news story talking about some of the changes I've noticed thus far. Perhaps not a big an update as the version number would suggest, but this probably means there's a lot of small bug fixes to make the E71 stable for the final stage of its life cycle.
Weren't we hoping they would bring over to Europe the 3v2 software that the E71 sports in the US? But Nokia NEVER upgrades OS versions, only does some bug smashing.
Unlike iPhone. Or Android.
They better start soon, because as it is, I know where the fat wad of cash I have to pay for one of this devices is NOT going.
My new E71 keeps acting up when I try to open up the MENU screen. What i mean by acting up is when I press the MENU button the options does not show. everything else function normally as far as i checked. My wife's phone which is also a E71 does not have this issue so i assume the only problem is the my phone is defective. Can someone help me out to fix this issue because i'm sick and tired of turning my phone on and off to reset this problem. I hope it's just a program glich which can be a easy fix by updating the software. I appriciate any help possible.
@niktrek,
You realize you just instructed someone to do something that will void their warranty right?
I changed the product code and it says there is an update but doesn't actually do the update saying that there is a problem in the internet connection. My firewall settings are all right.
Don't waste your time.

Nice to know i am not the only one getting that error. I have been trying for a couple of hours and pulling my hair out, BTW I have a NAM model and changed the code to 0559585. Frustrating, but i am still a huge Nokia fan.
The page 'tabs' at the top of the screen are now animated and condense themselves. (noticed while setting up M4E, there a lots of tabs in this app)
Will report more changes when i spot them.
I've got a E66-2 NAM code 0552845 and the Nokia website says it is available... although previous firmware was not. I will try installing it tonight. You can check official availability for your code at the "Can I update" thingy in Nokia's website (http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update)
I don't have administrator priviliges on my pc. Is it possible to download and install the software using my E71?
Oh, I hate the Nokia Messaging! How do I get back to use e-mail in the good old-fashioned way?
Does anyone know if the annoying screen saver bug where the time does not update, unless you press a key, has been fixed? This seems to affect v200 devices (such as my own O2 E71-1), but not my company Orange E71-1 with earlier firmware.
I've E-71 2 NAM unlocked, bought it 7 months ago and have the previous firmware. However some apps as Internet Radio and MyNokia have been there since the first day. I don't understand why these are mentioned here as something new.
Sent from my E-71.
I was able to update the firmware for my E66-2 NAM RM-345 (unlocked). Facebook/MySpace/YouTube thingies are there, but Nokia Messaging seems to be absent. Where should I look for it?

I got the old email app working but not too sure how I did it. Roughly, this is what I did.
1) Forced the POP options in Nokia messaging intro screen by entering wrong email address. And setup the POP account.
2) But this still gets me the Nokia messaging menus, so I removed and re-installed email and email setting apps.
3) I think this made the POP options setting appear on the email one-touch key. So, I chose that option.
4) Set up the POP settings properly as per the old settings that I was used to. Tested OK.
5) Removed email and email setting apps completely.
I think this is how I got the good old ugly email app working but there must be a simpler way.

Yes, upgraded from V210 to V300. Seem to have got rid of that bug.
I've just updated my E71 to the latest firmware. Nothing much significant. The main difference other than the widget - facebook, myspace & youtube, which u can bookmark it manually, the browser does not shut down when viewing data intensive websites. This updates improves the overall performace on web browsing - more stability.
If your cell is not in the variant for updates, just wait for your turn. It's really unnecessary to change the product code just to update the firmware.
