Nokia today announced the Nokia 6760, it is an unbranded version of the Nokia Surge that was announced in conjunction with AT&T last week. It has a horizontal slider with QWERTY keyboard and is a mid-tier, consumer focused, messaging device. The Nokia 6760 will be available from Q3 2009, at a cost of €200, before taxes and subsidies. Along with the Nokia 5530 it is one of the cheapest S60 on Symbian phones released to date.

Why on earth do Nokia persist with 2.5mm jacks? It's the height of stupidity when releasing phones that are targeted at a teen audience.
Does it have a 3.5M"M audio out jack ?
Looks kinda nice
Has Nokia upgraded it's 3mp cameras since the N73 at all? I imagine a newer camera would do a lot more than, say the N80's?
Mr. Mark, first, my impression is that Nokia has more phones with 3.5mm jack than any other manufacturer.
Second, on Surge, my guess is that it was either a demand from AT&T (the de facto co-designer of the phone) or simply did not fit in given the sizeable qwerty. My guess is that it was mostly the former.
No Wi-Fi, unfortunately...
1500 mAh battery (BP-4L)
Combined with a 2.4 inch screen and FP2's enhanced power saving, that phone's battery should last absolutely ages.
This is one of those phones that enthusiasts won't like but would still sell in droves.
Oh, btw, didn't the AT&T one have a 2mp cam only? I am actually surprised that Nokia bothered to change the camera module for this version.

So what? It doesn't put them where it matters.
This is a "youth" phone and when is the last time you saw someone alone on the bus or tube not wearing headphones?

Most people just use whatever headphones come with a gadget, and gadgets with 2.5mm audio sockets generally come with 2.5mm headphones.
Some of the people you see on the bus may well be wearing 2.5mm headphones, or even some other non-3.5mm standard.
I agree 3.5mm is better but a lot of people are prepared to live with other standards.
