I can't find any documentation that explains the purpose of "Track me", has anybody used it that can enlighten us?
I'm hoping that it's like the mgmaps function that allows real-time tracking on a web-based map. Google maps offers the same with Latitude but with manual position updates (I think).

It's in the latest beta of ovi maps.
Select Drive or Walk and there are three options:
1. Drive home
2. Set destination
3. Track me
I worked out the first two all by myself 😊
the icon looks like it leaves a breadcrumb trail on the map. dunno if you can save it as a route afterwards. i'll look when i leave the house next...

Ahhh ok, got it! I don't really use it for navigation, mainly for working out where I am. Be interesting to find out what it does.
Yes, that's what the icon could indicate but there does not appear to be a way to 'Track me' if you are using navigation.
I guessed 'Track me' would do something like Sports Tracker and create a .KML for viewing your journey on google maps/earth but I have not seen that option either.
Maybe it integrates with online ovi maps...but I can't find that either.
Maybe I'm not very good at finding things.
