If you have reviewed more on the design. The Hero is slightly better then the n97. The N97 overall is cheap quality. theres creaks and design faults everywhere.
Head to head: The Nokia N97 vs HTC Hero
Oh btw Nokia said they are going to release a new firmware mid-late december 2009 so keep an eye for that
<<Does anyone take Steve seriously anymore?
Nothing is or will ever be better than a Nokia as far as he is concern.
No wonder Nokia is going down in flames.
Instead of innovation they spend their money paying sites like this to spread their propaganda. As if it is gonna change anything.
Talk about losers!>>
Steve's been around Symbian since the good old days of the Psion 3a as far as I can recall. What he doesn't know about Symbian and all its variants probably isn't worth knowing! So OK maybe he is a little biased - but with good reason. All I can say is it's a pity Steve doesn't work for Nokia. Maybe we'd have less to complain about re the N97 / E72 etc in their current incarnations.
and for i can only say a couple of things..
people come and pick a nokia n97:
- were do i do this? were is that? can i move this to..?uups..i guess i didn't wanted to do that...
Then they pick up hero or other android device for the matter, and start moving things, swapping the home screens, moving the icons, adding things, discovering applications..they lose themselves enjoying the phone.
Of course the battery of a nokia n97 last's long, you don't spend a 3rth playing with the touch screen like you would do in a HTC Hero.Is that addicted...
This is regarding software, regarding hardware i guess is safe to say that are equal, lose in some win in some, and for the matter the phisical keyboard of nokia n97 isn't that speedy to use as is the on-screen keyboard of the hero with the auto correction on.
One more thing, try to stick a sd hc card class 4 or 6 in Hero and you will see what real speed is,add the rom upgrade that resolves youth lag problems, and you will enjoy yourself for hours.
Navigation??? not out of the box? for what, co-pilot live and other 3rd party are better that symbian or google maps...
i like symbian, but the problem isn't with the source, the problem is with the manufacturer and the numbers(sales) show the path they are taking.
