Performance has come albeit little bits in every firmware release. Bug fixes as well I am guessing, but you don't know exactly what has been done till the change log is posted somewhere. Why Nokia doesn't make this public I don't know. I always like to know whats been done under the hood.
Nokia Messaging is the revamped email client. That in itself is cumbersome IMO.
