Just received my N97.
Can I ask for reccomendations for covers and perhaps a screen protector?
I assume that the touch screen facility still works with a screen protector?
Do I really need a screen protector if I use a case of some kind?

did yours come with the sleeve? i think certain parts of the world doesn't come with it
you could always use a screen protector
find a matte screen protector, all other kinds are fingerprint magnets of the highest order
No sleeve was in the box. :frown:
I am in the UK.

Hi
I use the following screen protector which is robust and works well with touch screen
link:http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/martin-fields-screen-protector-nokia-n97-twin-pack-p19615.htm
Because of the complex cut outs on plastic - it can be quite tricky to apply but if fitted accurately it works well (I used the nokia badge and relevant cut out as guide - must allign very well - cut out tolerence is very tight).

I use a simple and accurate spectacles cover . Just Flip-in , Flip-out !

And for those who dont want to pay 16 for a screen protector, you could try this which also comes with a hybrid silicon hard case here.
I've still got the screen protector on that was on the phone when I got it out of the box. 😊
Hmmm, is there one? I didn't notice a film of plastic.
I shall look closer.

Amazon have a massive selection of screen films and they're very cheap and most come with cleaning cloths too. I got a packet of 10 for less than a fiver and they do the job. Put one on 2 months ago and it's still fine with no scratches. If you're going for a case too I'd advise one of the rubberised ones. They just look and feel better.
Don't buy the cheap ones they scratch really easily, buy the invisible shield, it isn't cheap but it is brilliant, I've had since it about 2 weeks after I got the phone and it hasn't had a single scratch on it.
I used my phone for a few days with the original screen protector in place but when one corner started to peel away I removed it. Straight away I found the screen to be more sensitive/responsive and easier to read.
Have you seen n97geeks' stress test on youtube? They have six tests, the first two show how resistive to scratching the screen is :icon14:

Deffo worth a look 😮
I'm not especially careful with my N97 (it's been dropped onto tarmac and stone slabs, and regularly goes into the same pocket as my keys) but the screen is still in perfect condition. I love how clean and shiny it comes up with the bundled Nokia rag 😊
