Google Sync

As I'm sure most of you know, Google Sync was updated this week to allow Exchange push Gmail to the iPhone / Windows Mobile crowds, plus Nokia devices with Mail for Exchange (subject of course to one not already using MfE for something else!).

So yesterday I installed the latest version of MfE then set about deleting my Google side calendar and contact databases, to sync the device up. It worked a treat - at least until all of the USA woke up, when Gmail sync stopped working (and it's recently started working presumably as America is going to bed).

Has anybody else tried it with the same - great - results as me, apart from a capacity issue at the Google end?

Yes, all working well for me too. You got your peak/off peak sync hours and everything set up ok?

Yeah, mostly. Rather than peak and off-peak, I basically have online and offline modes. 😉

I will experiment with it to see how the battery life is impacted. I didn't have many problems with the standard mail application running the idle-IMAP funkiness and MfE is juicier with the battery.

Now don't get me wrong as I'm happy, but that it... just... worked is great! Back in the day there'd be command line here, prompt here, scratching-of-head there, and it would eventually work. 😉
