VIDEO RECORDER UPDATE - NOW WITH SOUND

51 replies · 12,992 views · Started 11 March 2003

There is a slight bug, it does not 'automatically' hand over to realone to replay the files.
But you just go there manually and play your videos..

Best 😊

Will

No, but you can download a player from Nokia if you want to replay them on your PC.

Does anyone know how to stop realone trying to play these files and have the videorecorder itself replay them?

It works that way on the 7650 - besides, realone shrinks the playback screen to half the size and the videorecorder plays them back at full screen.
Stopid realone, I prefer Oplayo, can we delete Realone from a 3650??

Best

R U referring to Nokia Multimedia Player?

Thank you.

Can this new video recorder make videos with more than 15 seconds??

Limit is 100kb only. That is 11 or 12 seconds

If a user want longer video recording --> get Hipcam (a.k.a. as Camrec) which will record whtever size you want.. I tried 300kb and 500kb and it feels good to see longer video with Nokia devices (7650 & 3650).

Does anyone know what the difference between .3gp and .mp4 files are. I have a Nokia 7650 and .mp4 files created using another recorder. Now I cannot play these on the Video Recorder application. It doesn't even seem to recognise them. Help ?!
Sure, but remember you can not MMS the videos if they are greater than 100kb.
Yes, I know. If I'm at the road, I send the recorded huge video via YFTP to my server or to my friends server 😉
If I'm at the office, I simply send the huge recorded video to the PC then e-mail it to my recipient as an attachment.

Use RealOne Player to view your .mp4

ReaolOne is a BIG file to have on the 7650 - think it is about a meg or somink silly like that - shame when mp4 and 3gp are basically the same file but with different headers, you'd think hantro would make it open mp4 too!

Well without Audio the length of the movie was about 12 seconds. Now since Audio was added this will of course suck more bits. Therefore the length now was shortend to ONLY 9 SECONDS. I desided not to use this upgrade since audio can not be disabled.
So we just need to D/L it 1st and transfer via infra red , am i right guys>>????
Haha~ well is it just me or does Realplayer play them really small? I guess the solution to this would be to use the Chinese 3650 without Realplayer!

Yeah, realone plays them realy small, very anoying!
I have a Chinese 3650 and it came with realone.

Very anoying when the nokia recorder can play the files AND in full screen but RealOne is selected as the default player 😞

Does anyone know how to get RealOne to play in full size without that anoying black boarder?

Does the official firmware 3650 still do this?

Is there anyway we can get rid of ReaOne? It's crap anyway and does not stream in the UK, I'd rather use Oplayo for video streaming.

Will

Could you tell me what size does the realone player play the videos in??
can I send the .rm file from another phone to mine??
whats the exact screen size of the 3650
can the realone player can play mp4 format??
:P thanks

Will.... I dont like the black boarder of Realone also 😞 I hope there's away to get rid of it. I've turned off and on the Video Scaling but no luck to make it work. I think it depends on the resolution. In user guide of Realone states that if the resolution is too high, on and off Options is available... but no matter what I choose, the black boarder is there 😞

I'm not sure. Maybe if you'll bring your phone to Nokia Care and ask them to get rid of RealOne.. they will help you. For me, I'm keeping Realone because it's very useful to me while using it as mp3 player (.rm format)

I don't quite get what you mean with "black borders". I played the same video with Nokia video recorder and ROP and they viewed exactly the same.

The problem might be that your video resolution is something that doesn't scale right in the ROP. The best way to get the videos look ok, is to use 176x144 resolution in your videos. This is how you avoid scaling.

I don't quite get what you mean with "black borders". I played the same video with Nokia video recorder and ROP and they viewed exactly the same.

With Nokia Video Recorder there's no option to change the resolution. All videos that was recorder by Nokia Video Recorder is being shown/viewed as the same width and height of a wallpaper which is very good.

But playing the video in ROP, the video clip is very small surrounded by black border. The only option for ROP is turn on and off scaling and change the quality. No matter I choose off or on on the scaling, it does not change the size.

With Hipcam as the recorder, it is being played in Nokia Video Recorder with nice screen (width and height). Hipcam let me change the resolution (low, medium and high). No matter what resolution I choose, Nokie Video Recorder plays it nicely (perfect width and height). Viewing the recorder video using Hipcam in ROP is also small (with black border).

How do you adjust to 176x144? I hope you can tell us so that I can try it here 😊

But I suspect that its not because of the resolution since with Hipcam recorder, a user can change the resolution but ROP does not change the size of the video no matter what resolution I use to record.

Unless there's some more settings that I missed to configure in ROP.

OK, now I see what you mean. ROP doesn't scale up the videos recorded with Nokia video recorder. The resolution of the video recorded with Nokia video player is 128x96 and the video viewer area in both players is 176x144. So, ROP shows the video in actual size and Nokia video player scales it up.

Exactly!!!! 😊
Theres an option to turn off or on the automatic scaling in ROP but it dont work. I mean, I turned it on but still the same size (small). I turned it off but still the same size (small) 😞 A bug in ROP?

Awww! The Nokia Video Recorder scales it up automatically and that is what most users love

The ROP which has the option to scale it up or not cant do what it has to do 😞... a bug..buggy ROP

Thanks .. but then How to change the resolution?
