Try sending it via mms to yourself and when you try to open it from the INBOX--->OBJECTS it says UNKNOWN MESSAGE FILE (so the new video program has a bug,it cant read new incoming videos! Can someone try this and please answer this query)

No its not bug. As this is for 3650 that has a video player (real), the .3gp isnt recognised on 7650 with this.

@jyrik Thanks for the quick answer, but i got to tell you this the Hantro 3.3 version also has the same type of video format and not mp4 and the 7650 recognizes that immediately so what gives? Why does Hantro 3.3 video program read the INBOX and the so called inproved 3.4 doesnt?Any explanations on this? Thanks!

:fadein:
i just wanna make sure that what i downloaded is the right one...

softwares @ http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,5184,5371,00.html

player is Nokia_3650_Multimediaplayer_en2.exe

& the video software is Nokia_3650_Videorecorder.SIS

both will run on n7650, correct?

also, can i send the video clip as mms? how?

As there is a recogniser already in 3650 for 3gp, there is no need for the
new Hantro to have one. So it doesnt get installed to 7650 and the 7650
doesnt have the recogniser for 3gp.
The old versions of hantro do have it as those are for 7650.

Right
player is Nokia_3650_Multimediaplayer_en2.exe
This is for PC to play the videos
the video software is Nokia_3650_Videorecorder.SIS
This is for 7650 to record and play

Nope, see above
also, can i send the video clip as mms? how?
After you have recorded a video, select it and send.

Hi John - moving the .3gp file into the video folder then opening it from within the recorder application works fine for me and the 3 7650's in our office?

If you record a video and then later play it back does it play?

Will

Hi Will to answer your question yes it does,so you managed to open a video from your inbox and you pasted it in the video file and it worked,i to figured that out to but for some strange reason it doest read the videos from the inbox,i tried sending a Hantro 3.3 from another 7650 to my 7650 via bluetooth(using seleq)i got it in my inbox but Hantro 3.4 program doesnt open that either! (yes i sold my P800 and got the 7650 again sorry i know its off topic but i know that some people will be asking me questions, just to sum up the P800 isnt worth the price its selling for)

i've just installed the video software & took a video of my mom....

how do i send it to my computer so i can view it using the nokia multimedia player?

i'm using bluetooth...

thanks very much for all your replies.......

Yes, it wont. As there is NO recogniser in 7650 to know what app is used in opening 3gp files. The old hantro version had it. It doesnt matter what version you use for recording the video.

So welcome back to this side 😃
how do i send it to my computer so i can view it using the nokia multimedia player?
If you have the recorder open and can see the video files name and it is highlighted
then press select choose send and bluetooth

it says .... "unable to connect. max # of bluetooth connection already in use"

should i disconnect first my bluetooth connection then reconnect again?

I gotta thank you jyrik and will for your useful advise, its sad that the HANTRO 3.4 doesnt read the 3.3 version videos but the 3.3 reads the 3.4 ones,oh well i guess its mainly a 3650 program..Hopefully a 3.5 version will fix that, truth is the 3.4 has EXCELLENT sound and a very clear and smooth capture!Take care guys!
it says .... "unable to connect. max # of bluetooth connection already in use"

That means that the phone is connected to something via BT already.
You have the PC suite connected to 7650 at the moment?
Disconnect it.
So that in phone the BT connection display is not like this: () but just a black dot . Then its not connected. And you can send the file.

hhmmmm......

i think im doing something wrong here....

i cant really send it... says "sending failed!"

i hope i can do it right next time...

also....

do i still need realone? coz i see that 3650 have it....

if i do... where do i download free software of it?

lastly....

how do i compress it? the video software... its 418kb under app manager... i read on the 3650 forum[i think] that it can be compressed till 200++ kb, but when i installed it, it didn't gave me any option to compress...

GOT IT! THANKS!!!!!!!

Coming back to the .3gp recognizer in v3.4, it's obviously no smart move neither from Hantro, nor from Nokia to release a software where higher version has less feature!!!

It's so frustrating you can't send phone video from handset to handset using software promoted by Nokia. Some will say it's meant for 3650 but are they mean or brainless here?? Eventually we users pay for sending the MMS and have the fun, now we just get contradicted because we don't have the "right" handset! If there starts to be software segmentation within Symbian, this is going all wrong...

Although I'm true 7650 supporter, this is disappointing, really!

Mig29 has a point here,if all of us have to have a 3650 to view sent 3gp videos so why the reason having mms on our 7650 if we cant view the videos sent to us..Plain stupid...As i said earlier the NEW 3.4 version isnt made for the 7650 for full function?

Yes but if you MMS/e-mail to your pc and then place them directly into the videos folder of the phone using PcFilemanager of Nokia Suite then they will play - sure it's long winded but it works.

This release was meant for 3650 but of course works on 7650 because of symbian.
Thats why Nokia put it on the 3650 pages and not 7650.
Perhaps Nokia/Hantro will release a 7650 version that will 100% work for 7650 but I bet it won't be for a while - Nokia is not keen for the 'general public' to know 7650 can even do video as they don't want to piss on the fire of 3650 and want everyone to buy / upgrade to 3650 as it does video!

It's only you and us that even know the 7650 can do all this, even the guys that sell the phones in the retail stores don't seem to know - perhaps they have been told not to tell???
Naughty Nokia..

I think it's unfair that Nokia themselves do not 'advertise' the fact that the 7650 can do video and it's only by joing groups like this that you get to find out this info.

The amount of people who have 7650's and don't know HALF the capabilities it has! I am always amazing people when I take their 7650 and within 5 mins it's recording & playing video, people normaly say "but the guy in the shop said thats impossible and the next generation phones only do video'

Imagine how surprised all the Java phone owners will be when they find out THEIR phones can do video too..

Will 😉

This has been reported to Nokia. Hopefully they release a fix for that soon. Perhaps that was the exact reason they put it in the 3650 section and not in 7650 section at all...

ok! it is a given that something went wrong with the design of the hantro 3.4 so it doesn't recognize video clips in the inbox. has anyone tried comparing the system file of video recorder and compared it with the older versions? this way we can see what file is not present in the new version? get my point? wala lang...

Hi, thanks for all the advice on this forum. I sent a video clip via email to my dad's PC and when he tried to use the latest realone player the 3gp file did not play. I was under the impression that you could play clips on a PC using realone - will my dad have to download the Nokia player? He only has a 56K connection and the file is about 8Mb.

Does anyone know a a smaller player he could use?

Thanks

Steve and Steve's dad. 😊

I got info that an upgraded Hantro v3.4 is available and works fine on the .3gp recognition in 7650. It seems to be Nokia internal at the moment, let's see if it will be released...

I've got the same problem with not being able to send videos to my PC... Says "Sending Failed"! Where do the clips go in your comp when you send them anyway?! Thanks.

P.S. The video recording thing is great! What is Hipcam, sounds like it's even better??

The file sent to pc will end up in Blueroorh Inbox on PC

There is away around viewing 3gp files sent to your phone via MMS

Leave sent file in inbox. Use SeleQ. Open SeleQ. Go to Options - Edit - Copy Inbox. Go to C:\Nokia\Videos. Paste File in this directory. Rename file so that ext is 3gp only. File is often *.3gpgibberish. Edit ext to .3gp

Now open Hantro3.4 (Nokia Video Player) and you can replay file.

This is a long way but untill Nokia or Hipcam release a recognition for 7650 it will have to do

Forget all of the above messing about guys, nokia have released the officail 7650 version which now lets the 7650 recognise the .3gp files, which allows you to play videos direct from your inbox!

And it works!! 😊

It's over at the nokia site. http://www.nokia.com/cda1/0,1080,2019,00.html

Best

Will

I still can't figure out how to send videos to my PC, please help! Is there anyway I can access all the file on my phone from my PC?
