This thread included a poll: Flip on or Flip off?

Guys,

dont think I have seen a poll for Flip on or Flip off.....so here it is.

Which do you prefer?

Pete.

Just got my Brando screen protector today and let me tell you.. The first thing I did was rip that bulky flip off!

I feel totally comfortable having it off now (with the protector of course) not to mention it looks absolutely S#@$ HOT without it.

Free yourselves from the flip people!

Ho ho ho 😊

I like to have the flip on 8)

I prefer it on, it's too hard to type numbers on the v-keypad with it off, just makes it not as usable, I think it looks sweet with the keypad on too 😊

Cool, it's just hit 50/50 😊.

I prefer the flip on at the moment and I reckon the phone looks retro with it on which I like.

Still debating the question though. Thanks for all that have voted so far.

Pete.

I prefer the flip on at the moment, I thought i would be a flip off man, but hey there u go.

Saying that i dont think ive used it yet to make a call, I tend to open the flip then go to contacts etc.

Well, search the next time. I started one some time ago, but you already got the same amount of responses I got.

I tried it with flip off. But I did it on again, I have a screen protection sheet, but there is no way to use it without stylus anymore.
So I think it is better with flip on.
But I agree it looks better with flip off. Maybe I take it off when I have got my Piel Frama case, because then the stylus is off and available anytime.

I've had my phone sin 18th january, and never used flip or protector. Why are you all so scared of scratching the screen??. I hasn't successed with scratching. And if you don't use a scalpel, and stick to a pensil or the stylus, I can't imagine how to scratch it ?

Please tell me how if possible

Flip On!

If I have the Flip off then Ive taken out a very big part of the this PDA/PHONE, which is the PHONE. The keypads were designed to be very small with the flip off, you have to use the stylus to dial already, unless you have very small fingers...

Flip off.

I don't have small fingers, and it dials perfectly well for me, I even navigate the contacts with my thumb, the screen seems inteligent enough to work out the centre of the pressure point.

The buttons on the flip just are not responsive enough.

I never use the supplied stylus, I have a Rotring Pen which has as one of its tips a PDA sylus, makes writting notes emails etc very easy and comfortable.

flip ON ONLY because it is more convenient to quicky dial numbers and more importantly faster to type out sms's :\

looks sexy w/out the flip though

flip off for me. It is far less bulky and looks more futuristic with it off, except I dont know how to switch on speakerphone when it is not there to open.

Flip off for me, it makes the phone look nicer and I've never used the flip anyway 😊

I used it with the flip off for the first few days, thinking how much better it looked, but it really was too much of a pain to use as a phone.

I've put the flip back on and now it is so much more usable. I reckon for me though it is 75% phone, 25% PDA so may differ for others.

Flip is on baby!

hi, could you guys help me out.... i removed the keypad of my p800 but i still cant figure out how to activate / use speakerphone function. thanks

There are a couple of ways;

1/ Open the virtual flip if you have it closed
(if not, you could close and then open it)

2/ Tap on the speker icon at the bottom of the screen.
There will be an extra option in there during a call to active
the speaker phone.

I have to go with it on, although I agree it looks much cooler with it off.

I just wish they'd designed it so it traveled further out of the way when open. As it is, it opens about 140 degrees, which is great if you want it to look like one of those old Motorola flip phones, except you don't generally open the flip to talk on the phone. Plus it gets in the way a bit when doing some PDA stuff.

Now if it traveled all the way around and layed flat against the back of the phone, that would be cool.

I think this is a somple conclusion:

People who use it mainly as a phone prefer it on, like a conventional phone.

People who use it extensively as PDA prefer it off, just like a conventional PDA.

flip off looks better .. you still can dial using your fingers with flip off .. just a matter of practising it hehehe 😊
