So, can Windows 7 users upgrade firmware?

I use Windows 7 and don't have any other OS at hand. Does that mean I can't update my phone because Nokia's software does not support Windows 7? Are they seriously going to leave us out? Do I have to wait for the FOTA update which may come out in months???

Whilst I sympathise to a degree, Mac users have had not NSU software for FOO KING YEARS......

All the updating has had to be carried through via a Windows machine. But, as I've now got a new Mac Book Pro ( Core Duo ) I have the best of ( Mac OS ) and the worst of ( Windoze ) OS's, so can still update via the inferior partition on my hard drive.

BUT - the important point is this yet again highlights not only Nokia's incompetency, but many other phone companies, who only write software for a specific OS.

I sincerely hope they include WIn7 sooner rather than later, as I'm sure there are many others in a similar predicament.

Good Luck.

with windows 7 you need to run the nokia software updater in vista mode and it works, so i read.

You can also install the Ovi suite and use the updater in that. Confirm it works as I used it to update to 12.0.026 using Windows 7 x64.

I posted a reply to this earlier, but that got moderated ( posted it from work ) , so it's disappeared into cyber space until goodness knows when....

I do sympathise to a degree, but Mac Users have been without this facility for YEARS, and even now, Nokia in all their incompetency and laziness, still have not made a Mac version of PC Suite / NSU, but imporvements are on the horizon.

THe longer this delay of v20 continues, the more I am really REALLY beginning to hate Nokia. Almost as much as Microsoft. Are they in cahoots with each other?

Having said that, I have installed that piece of absurdly foul smelling brown stuff software known as WIndows XP on my Mac, and can access the NSU when required. THe good thing is that I can get rid of it anytime too 😃

I have installed the latest update to MSU on Windows 7, however, I did it in XP mode (like what was said earlier about Vista mode) and it installed ok.

It is concerning though, that Nokia have not included native Windows 7 support in their most recent update.

The situation for Mac owners is though a complete disgrace, and all round cluster.

Win7 should have XP mode, but I'm not sure about the Home edition. I don't have Win7. If you can't do that, then use a virtual machine.
