Good.
I find it rather hilarious that people will twist what they read just so they can have a whinge. Despite the evidence being right here in the thread, where did I write "MAIN problems" ?????

I would find in very insulting that people would lie like that, if I was bothered. But I don't give a flying fig.

I bought the N97 as a sim free unbranded handset, when it was first released here in Saudi, about a week before it was launched in the UK, and it is about my fourth Symbian phone, so I do know how to use them. The main problem I have experienced is the phone freezing when answering calls, and this problem has been consistent with v12 firmware, and now has also occurred on v20 FW. This is not down to user incompetence.

Thanks for telling me. Where did I write that freezing when answering calls was down to user incompetence? Let's not let the truth get in the way of an excuse to moan eh?

I got so fed up with it, for a while I reverted back to the N95, and waited til v20 FW was released for my Product Code. I know I'm not the only one with this problem, but was also so disappointed with the lack of support and response from Nokia. I rally do think that my time with Nokia has come to an end, and when I'm ready to splash out on another phone, I'll be looking very hard elsewhere.

Signed, Angry of Saudi.
Very interesting.

@ the person suggesting branded firmwares are the problem, CPW sell all theirs bone stock and Vodafone (who still have the Satio in market) have heavily branded theirs.

I had an early N97 and it was full of problems - GPS, lens scratch and poor operating system all of which i put down to it being rushed out. These all really let the phone down.

Add to that Nokia not coming in early and recalling the phones with problems really made me want to get shot of it - iPhone 3GS was on the cards - but thats had its problems as well!

Nokia has since recognised the hardware faults and will repair or replace handsets which they did with mine and i have to say it is like a different phone and experience especially with V20 which works really well with mine.

I think that operator versions of operating systems really bugger them up as well as the fact they rarely bother updating them.

So in my case Voda phone should have stuck with it - its a much better phone than its got credit for so far.

Flame me now!! 😃
