H

I just got the N97 Mini a couple of days ago.

When I recieved the phone, it was equipped with V10.0.020 firmware, everything was working fine untill did the automatic firmware upgrade through the phone.

Before the Upgrade:
Text message time was appearing fine. I am currently in Canada (I have a british phone) and I set the time zone settings to Canada and even had the automatic time set switched on.

After the upgrade :
When I have the proper time zone set (Canada GMT - 7) the time on the text message recieved would appear 5 hours head. If I have it to GMT or skip the time zone setting the time would appear 2 hours ahead.

I have been searching for a solution however have had no luck.

Tries to rectify :
I tried a hard reset *#7380*
I tried the soft reset

However none of these managed to roll back the firmware to factory firmware. It appears to keep the new updated firmware. which is a custom version V10.0.020.209.XX

Does anyone know a solution to this issue?

I would not mind rolling back to the version in the factory settings.

Please advise.
Thanks!

Just a thought.

Have you got the following enabled?

Clock > Options > Settings > Automatic time update

I've noticed similar problems have been reported around the 'net' lately. I'm guessing it's a firmware bug, and likely to be sorted in the next update, which will probably be along fairly soon.

Yes I have tried it with the automatic time update on and off but it makes no difference.

Would anyone know how to get my hands on the factory firmware?

The last firmware update for this phone was on January 14th 2010. So i'm not really sure how quick the firmware update would be available.

My apologies not *#7380*, its *#7370*

Hard reset (*#7370*) = where the phone memory is wiped out and firmware is reinstalled.

Soft reset = the phone being returned back to factory settings.
