After installation of new version 21 i have noticed that they have built in sip settings but does any one know how to use it as I configured and registered my sip client in there but dialing out no option for sip calls ?? any idea and yes same goes for SKYPE also thanks in advance:con?
the n97 does not have SIP calling like the older phones did such as the n95. the SIP profile on the n97 is only for the video calling function. so you cannot use your SIP client to make VOIP calls. stupid nokia removed it on all newer phones.
I followed the advice at http://winkstreaming.com/en/n97_sip/ to get SIP working on my N97 - it works a treat.

Now there's interesting. I intend to have a play with this over the weekend. After taking suitable backups I shall follow most of those instructions and then see if I can get Truphone's app to install the full version rather than the cut off one that uses Truphone Anywhere. If that works I shall be in seventh heaven.

hey that's pretty cool, i didnt know this existed to get SIP calling back.
I am now happy to confirm that I have tried this. Unfortunately, I have not managed to persuade Truphone's installer that my phone is now SIP aware, so I had to follow the instructions to configure my phone for another VoIP provider.
