I have past 300 posts for some time now and so I decided to introduce my real self here in AAS, by creating a small informal biography of myself, describing what I find Interesting.
My real name is Kiriakos. I was born in Neapoli (Thessaloniki), Greece in the 29th April of 1984.I have also posted a photo of me in the AAS gallery. Right now I am a student at a University (or better say TEI for all the guys who know about the Greek educational system) in Serres(Greece) and study Computer Science (an exact translation of it would be �Informatics & Telecommunications� .
I have a 10 years experience with computers, although half of them were only hobby but also the most usefull for my later career (still remember my first 286 computer with MS-DOS 3.2.).
What I Like? Football (or better say soccer), but I am not a great fan of any team, Although I like Liverpool(very much), Real Madrid and I WAS an Aris fan here in Greece. What about Music? I hear almost everything although I find Rock more suitable to my likings.
My experience with mobile phones is only 4 years old. My first Mobile was a bulky Siemens(I don�t remember the model number, besides I had it only for 2 months), Then the glorius Panasonic GD92 (and still for me, one of the best phones I ever had),One year later I got a Nokia 6210, which I really regret it (Although it had a load of new specs I have lost some others, and it was buggy like every windows 9x system). On the end of the previous year I started viewing the forums of AAS as well as posting a couple of times as guest, and that�s because I was making a research for the 7650 I was going to buy later.
Although at first I joined AAS to have a good image of my phone/PDA and after I bought it to get informed for any news I quickly got addicted to it. I really like it making new friends through the friendly forums of AAS something that is very unusual in Internet (I had some very bad experiences through IRC), and also I loved contributing on it helping people on tech stuff as well as posting staff for their devices�
Unfortunately after my studies started about a month ago I have only the option to get connected to internet through my GPRS wap on my phone (which stops to be free in the end of this month) because my computer is far away from the university. So you may not see me posting as much as I was from next month, maybe only on weekends.
Lastly I would like to talk about my nick(s). When I first connected to the internet about 5 years ago my nick was Serin. Unfortunately this was not so representative of myself and also it was taken from a video game (Secret of Mana, Serin was the father of the hero of this game). Right then I was a dream boy... I mean I was always making dreams for stuff like my future� so I changed my nick to Morpheus (The ancient God of dreams). This nick also didn�t last too much especially because after about three months �The Matrix� movie was out and this nick was adopted by many others. So I decided to choose sth that will be unique and also be more representative cause I decided to GET SERIOUS (me, not anymore a dream boy).
Memphis:
1. (Memphis, Egypt. Men � nofer, from the name of Pharaoh�s Pepi A� colonisation near the pyramid. It�s first name was White Walls (like our White Tower) from the name of the fortress, in which later was built the city) Ancient Egyptian city. Founded in the beginning of 3000 B.C. in the borders of Upper and Lower Egypt. It was a great religious, politistic, politic and industrial center of Egypt, capital of the ancient kingdom. After Alexandria was founded it lost his past glory. � Now how I am connected with all these? Just replace the city part with me, and also many other things have metaphoric meaning. Sth that I am(in some aspects) and also want to be(in others).
2. Project name of Microsoft Windows 98. I am a tech freak after all�
X: Well this has many meanings, although it was first inspired by The X-Files it has a deeper meaning. It describes the unknown part of me. The undiscovered philosophy that hides behind me and in many cases that even �I� haven�t discovered, not to mention my unknown future, and also many other things. There is no space between X and Memphis because they are one part, and describe one the other, and myself.
Lastly I would like to add that although I have a Cambridge Certification in English (FCE), I don�t speak the language so well, mostly because I got it on 1999 and I was not using my skills very often. So excuse any mistakes I made not only on this post but also on my previous, and my future�
