What Audio Formats Can Be Played ?

I'm relatively new to Symbian mobiles...... I've got a 3650 (Naff Keypad layout)+ 7650 (I Love this Phone) and was wondering If there is anyway to play mp3's or .mod files as ring tones?

The .mod format is an old Amiga Music Trakker system... although they can be played and composed On your average PC now-a-days.

Thanks.

Unfortunately not. The 7650 (don't know about 3650) can only play and use as ringtones .mid .Amr and .Wav files. The wav files can be encoded In pcm, adpcm(half bitrate of standard pcm, same quality) and gsm (1/5 bitrate of standard pcm medium quality but at least better than amr's or mp3 of the same bitrate). Also there are a couple of other codecs that they are compatible but they are same with the standard pcm in quality and bitrate... I am sure you can convert the file you want to wav using eg. Winamp and then encoded it using one of the above codecs to reduce its size. All codecs mentioned above are present on every windows os above win95...
