Change Volume on N8 using Bluetooth Headphones?

6 replies · 11,330 views · Started 10 December 2010

Hi,

I have an N8 and am trying to use bluetooth headphones to listen to music (SE HBH-IS800). These headphones do not have volume control on them and the volume control on the N8 does nothing to the volume whilst using the headphones, except to mute when pushed down to the lowest level.

Do I need to change some default setting somewhere or something so that the volume control on the phone is activated?

Cheers for your help.

not sure why that is mate. i also have the same headphones as you but hadnt tried yet on the n8 till your post an yep its the same for me. i mostly use the nokia bh505 which are great and work flawlessly with the n8

I had a loaner pair of bluetooth headphones, and volume on the headphones was independent of the volume of the phone itself.

This was described in the manual as a feature, not a bug.

Sorry dude.

At the moment the N8 does not work properly with headsets without volume control. I am using the N8 with BH505 and the headset is the one increasing the volume not the phone. When I adjust the volume on the headset, the volume on the N8 does not change at all.

Maybe a FW update will allow volume control from the device too? Don't know.

Guys.. I have exactly the same problem. (Nokina N8 + Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 = Unable to adjust the volume) Have you heard of any solution for this problem?
